Ronaldo left out by Brazil Brazil boss Carlos Dunga has opted to ignore Milan striker Ronaldo for the Selecao’s upcoming friendly tests.
Brazil will play Chile and Ghana in Sweden this month and Il Fenomeno was hoping in a call-up, after his promising start with the Rossoneri following his January move from Real Madrid.
Although the former Fiorentina midfielder has admitted that he is monitoring the striker, Dunga insists he’s not yet ready for samba selection.
“We are watching and observing him,†said Dunga to reporters. “As soon as his performances interest us and he is near to his best then he will be selected.â€
Ronaldo’s teammate Nelson Dida also failed to make the 22-man Brazil roster. Roma man Amantino Mancini, despite his outstanding performance in the Champions League match with Lyon on Tuesday, was omitted too.
The 1994 World Cup winning captain has only selected two Serie A players in the shape of Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar and Milan star Kaka.
There was also no place for Adriano. The Inter striker, selected just once by the Coach so far, is recovering from the injury which ruled him out of the Valencia clash in midweek.
Brazil have played six matches under Dunga so far, suffering their first defeat under his management against Portugal at the Emirates Stadium last month.
