Oliveira's Madrid Move Also Awating Fifa Approval

For reasons similar to Javier Mascherano, Ricardo Oliveira is also waiting for an exemption from Fifa before completing his loan move to Real Madrid.

The Milan forward returned to Real Betis from a loan spell at Sao Paolo on August 21, and then moved to Milan ten days later.

He will be thus be in breach of Fifa's rule - barring a player from playing for three clubs within a twelve month spell - should he play for any other team before August.

Real Madrid and the player's agent have together lodged a special appeal with Fifa, asking the governing body to exempt him from the restriction.

His recuperative spell at Sao Paolo was to help him get some football under his belt and recover from his serious knee injury last season, and Madrid believe that is reason enough for him to be excepted.

Javier Mascherano was also granted similar permission, clearing the way for his move to Liverpool, making Madrid even more hopeful of a positive response.

Fifa will respond within the next hours...

Hopefully FIFA do the right thing and disallow the move. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

This is so f*cked up by the milan management, no words can describe it.

Ok .. Let's suppose Oli moves out by tonight .. Who would replace him ? Carraciolo (however his name is spelled); he is already cup tied (Palermo .. uefa), plus his name is too long, soo expensive to buy his shirt .. No wonder noone likes him in Sicily (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I dont feel it's a good idea to loan him out !

If oli goes, the only player we can pickup is a quick fix since all the players who have been linked excluding bojinov are either old, useless or both. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

The only some what reasonable swap would be for cassano.

Thank god karkookaolo is cup tied, its a disgrace such a player can be linked to our club. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Hmm but according to all reports, the loan will happen if FIFA look past the three team factor. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Oliveira not moving to Madrid

MADRID, Spain: Real Madrid won't be signing AC Milan striker Ricardo Oliveira as a replacement for Ronaldo.

Talks at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium between Milan vice president Adriano Galliani and Madrid officials stopped because of a FIFA rule which prevents a player from appearing for three clubs in the same season, news reports said Wednesday.

Oliveira spent last season with Real Betis but then was loaned to Sao Paulo for the three months of the European offseason. He joined Milan on Aug. 31.

"Oliveira played for Sao Paulo and Milan and Real Madrid would be a third (team) and that's very difficult. The lawyers were working on it and it's better to avoid risks," Galliani told Radio Marca.

Earlier Wednesday, FIFA authorized the transfer of Argentina midfielder Javier Mascherano to Liverpool even though he has already played for Corinthians and West Ham.

Galliani has been in the Spanish capital for three days, having secured Ronaldo's €7.5 million (US$9.75 million) transfer Tuesday.

Madrid's failure to sign Oliveira on the last day of January's transfer window has left it with only three top strikers — Ruud van Nistelrooy, Raul Gonzalez and Gonzalo Higuain. Most leading clubs have four.

The team has scored only 28 goals in 20 league games this season, its lowest tally in 16 years.

No Real deal for Oliveira

Ricardo Oliveira will terminate the campaign with Milan after his proposed loan move to Real Madrid collapsed.

The Rossoneri were seemingly willing to hand over their summer signing from Real Betis, but the move was just too complicated to complete so close to the transfer window’s closure.

“It was a bit complex,” noted Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani. “Real Madrid would have been his third club this season after already appearing for Milan and Sao Paulo.”

Galliani was making reference to the FIFA rule which doesn’t allow an individual to play for more than three clubs in one term.

Although Liverpool have successfully managed to get special dispensation to sign Javier Mascherano from West Ham for the same reason, Milan and Real didn’t want to take any risks at such a late stage.

The Brazilian will therefore remain at the San Siro, a decision which also means that Andrea Caracciolo hasn’t left Palermo.

Milan were lining up the former Brescia man as a replacement for Oliveira who would have filled in for Ronaldo at Real following his Milan switch.

Meanwhile, Sampdoria have claimed that the Rossoneri were also interested in netting their star forward Francesco Flachi.

“Milan asked us for several players, including Flachi,” sporting director Beppe Marotta revealed. “But we decided to keep him in Genoa.”

Oliveira Enjoys Double Happiness

Finally the living nightmare experienced by Milan striker Ricardo Oliveira has ended: as he came back to Brazil he could finally embrace his sister again, after she was kidnapped and held for ransom and has been freed by her kidnappers only a few days ago.

While at San Paolo, where he was also able to train with his old team, Oliveira also got the news that he has been called up by Brazil coach Dunga for the friendlies the Selecao will play on Saturday and Tuesday.

"For me it's a double joy - the Rossoneri player said to Brazilian daily "O Globo" - For the release of my sister and the call up of the national team. They were five difficult months, the worst of my life, in which I wasn't able to work as I wanted to. Now there's a new start ahead for me. I'm very happy for the call up and for me this is like the first time, it's very special."
