QUOTE (I_Rossoneri @ Jan 24 2007, 07:43 PM) And to think, we were going to get him for free only yesterday...one day later and Galliani is a genius for getting Ronaldo's price down to £4.7m (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Tomorrow he might get it down to £6m (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Love the sarcasm (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) But just think about it this way. We where goona pay them nearly 20M € for him in the summer but they where stubbern about it cause of the Kaka situation. Now they are practically grovelling to us to take him off their hands. Why? It's not because he's a bad player, but because when Cappello set's his mind on something he sticks to it, and he doesn't want Ronaldo, R9 will cost Real a fortune if he stays there. R9 wanting to come to Milan at all costs gives me every bit of hope that he will come here motivated and ready to work as hard as he can. Because if he is as lazy and unmotivated as everybody says he is then he would have stayed at Real sitting on his @ss all day and collecting the dough. Or he could have just moved to Arabia and made a forune living the high life in dubai. Basically this is a win win situation for Milan imo. Getting R9 for free was far fetched to say the least but it was a clever ploy from Fester, Real where blasting us for not giving them any respect and that's what they deserve, now they even came as far as to come to Milan themselves for a player that WE want to get from THEM. Imo they are the ones doing the groveling not us

But Galliani is desperate and that is why he's in talks with real. If he was going to back down so easily then he shouldn't have made such bold statements. If he pays any more than 3m Euros he will prove how weak he really is.

If he pays any more than 3m Euros he will prove how weak he really is. I don't think Galliani is deperate at all to land R9. It's rather the other way round, Real are more desperate to get rid of him, so negotiations will be held on our terms not theirs. I agree that it was a bold statement to make, but I guess they thought that R9 would be able to handle on his own, but that has turned out to not be the case at all. There is 7 days left on the transfer market. For me, if we get Ronaldo then great, because I am certain that he will be great for us. If we don't then no problems, we've gone for the entire half of the season without him we're not in desperate need of him. 4th place is only 3 wins away max, I'm certain that we will make it R9 or no R9. Again I consider this situation a win win for us. And a lose lose for Real.

Poker Playing Galliani Plans Madrid Raid For Ronaldo AC Milan’s Adriano Galliani will be taking charge of the negotiations with Real Madrid for the transfer of Ronaldo and has confirmed a meeting with the White House staff headed by Ramón Calderón and mediated by Franco Baldini in Madrid on Monday.
The Milan exec met with middleman Franco Baldini, the Real Madrid fixer having been sent on a firefighting mission to avoid any bridges being burned.
What seemed like a straightforward deal is being complicated by both sides’ intransigence on the economic issue.
Despite blanket denials that the Italian press swallowed hook, line and sinker, Galliani is willing to spend to get Ronaldo.
The Italian exec used the press to try to force the Fenômeno to demand an exit from Real Madrid, but doesn’t want to dynamite a potential publicity coup over a few pesky million.
Still wearing his poker face, Galliani limited his central declaration to "Ronaldo won’t be arriving today", a stunningly obvious opening statement reflecting the continued war of nerves.
"I talked with Baldini again and the negotiations are still continuing. Ronaldo has said he only wants to come to Milan and Real Madrid have given him permission to look for another club.
“If all goes according to plan then I’ll travel to Madrid on Monday to examine the actual possibilities of a deal being reached", added Galliani.
Galliani ended with a stick and carrot, keeping the deal warm without burning any possible advantageous result.
“[The negotiations with Baldini] have been perfectly cordial and conciliatory. Nevertheless, we can’t commit the sin of being over-optimistic and will have to wait to see what happens", ended Galliani.

QUOTE (pKillerMax @ Jan 24 2007, 08:41 PM) Great point Max... (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Well I'm still not sure if the R9 deal will happen, so I'm just not gonna think about it too much. QUOTE (arivanjj @ Jan 24 2007, 08:43 PM) i think Galliani might include Oliveira as part of the deal and load him to them till june .. Why would he, we would end up with only 2 strikers in the CL!! Oliveira is a great player, I have never seen him have a bad game, he deserves to get as many chances as Gila and Pippo but sadly he hasn't got them yet. Just give him playing time and he will start scoring again.
