QUOTE MADRID, Spain (AP) - Ronaldo's prospective move to AC Milan moved closer after Real Madrid began negotiations with the Italian club.
Madrid official Franco Baldini reportedly met Milan vice president Adriano Galliani for the first time since last August, when the clubs couldn't agreed a transfer fee for the Brazil striker.
"It's certainly true that Ronaldo interests us," Galliano said on Spanish radio. "We are prepared to negotiate with Real Madrid. This evening I have spoken to Baldini and tomorrow there may be another meeting. I don't want to talk figures."
News reports said Wednesday that Madrid won't allow Ronaldo to move on a free transfer. The Spanish club is said to want €10 million (US$13 million), well below Milan's unsuccessful offer of €22 million (US$28.6 million) five months ago.
Ronaldo, who is under contract until June 2008, has seven days remaining of the January transfer window to switch clubs. Otherwise, he will have to stay at Madrid at least until the end of the season.
The 30-year-old striker, who hasn't been picked for Madrid since the Jan. 7 defeat at Deportivo La Coruna, said Monday his difficulties with coach Fabio Capello seem set to force him out of the club.
A move to Milan would take Ronaldo back to the city where he spent five years with rival Inter. He joined Madrid in 2002, winning the Spanish league at the end of his first season - his last major title.

QUOTE (I_Rossoneri @ Jan 24 2007, 12:04 PM) The point is that Galliani publicly stated that we wouldn't deal with real for Ronaldo, but has now gone back on his words. From making Milan look like a team not to be f**ked with, he's now made us look like a laughing stock by grovelling to real. Once he makes a stance he should stick to it! who cares how he goes about getting players...as long as he gets them if i remember correctly, when we got gila, he said that we weren't getting anybody (at least not a striker) that year i've seen nothing where anyone has said that milan looks like a laughing stock...in my eyes we look stronger because we fought to keep kaka...and we still might get ronaldo.

I think you're missing my point; Galliani declared war on real over their interfering with kaka yet less than a week later he was begging them for Ronaldo. Next Galliani proudly boasts that AC Milan will not pay anything for Ronaldo and Ronaldo must rescind his contract with real and again, less than a week later and he's discussing how much he can buy Ronaldo for (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) To me he's ot just made himself look stupid but he's dragged Milan into it as well. Let us not forget who was i charge of the Lega Calcio when the calciopoli trial started and this was the man who knowingly dragged Milan into it. The man is a total disgrace IMO

The man is a total disgrace IMO agree with ya 100%, but if you dont lie about what your plans on the transfer market are people are gonna use it to their advantage. If he didnt say that about milan and ronaldo we would have to pay 10m instead of 5m. Please use brains (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) , no offence. It is like a game of poker, the transfer market. If your reveal all your cards too early, someone is gonna most likely come out better than you are. Also by saying milan were interested eralier they could have dragged kaka inth edeal but now they seem to not care and jus twanna get rid of ronaldo that is why we are negotiating (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

QUOTE (I_Rossoneri @ Jan 24 2007, 08:25 PM) he did not say he's going to Madrid for that... that's what some papers came out with. Do not rush into conclusions... we might not even get him at all! (He probably went there with a bunch of other people to lift Ronaldo back to Milan... (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )
