QUOTE
Milan director Ariedo Braida has been to Amsterdam to discuss the possible signing of Ajax midfielder Wesley Sneijder. The Rossoneri now accept that they will not prise Ronaldinho from Barcelona, and are looking at the Dutch international as a potential alternative.

The diminutive Sneijder has much to recommend him, as a genuinely two-footed playmaker with fine technique, powerful shooting and a good work ethic.

The 22-year-old will be viewed as a long-term replacement for his countryman Clarence Seedorf, who recently played out a public shouting match with coach Carlo Ancelotti.

It is believed a fee of around 10 million euros will persuade Ajax to part with one of their prize assets.

I believe he is a very good and talented midfielder.
He will be a good addition to our squad.
Hard working player.

Doesn't matter.
We don't need Ronaldinho. We have star players.
Now we need reinforcement.

He will be Seedorf's replacement.

I like him. He has great shoots and very good overall. He could become even better here.

I just find it strange that he is being considered because we can't get Gaucho...I mean how is this an 'instead-of' scenario?

It's like saying I'm 100 grand short for buying a Ferrari, so I'll go buy a Nissan Skyline GTR...while any guy with sense would go for a Porsche...not that I've given a very clear analogy.

Let me put it this way Sneijder whatever his merits cannot provide for the functions that Gaucho would if we were to buy him. Gaucho I'm sure will be second punta while Sneijder is meant to replace Seedorf...so explain the correlation if you please...

Hard to do when ur managing Newcastle at the same time, it's a big club you know and Kieron Dyer has got attitude problems (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

The good news is the Ukrainian can't score in Fifa 07 either he's nowhere on the top scorers list. Kalou has scored more than him (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

You got it all wrong man, I've seen Sneijder play recently (cause I love how Ajax play, so I've been watching them lately). And Sneijder is far from being just a Nissan, he is definately a Porsch.

I would love to have Sneijder at Milan, definately a great player, maybe he is not as hyped up as Ronnie is, but he is definately up there. But I just can't see him fitting into our system, I definately can't see him playing in Seedorf's position, since he is more like Kaka, and would make much more impact playing in the whole between the strikers, and I definately can't see him playing as a seconda punta.

Haha, so even Fifa saw that disaster happening right from the start when ES moved to the Premiership (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
