QUOTE (William405 @ Sep 23 2021, 06:14 AM) You think really he will play in the AM slot? I certainly hope so, otherwise he'd be kind of a Kessie replacement. Well, technically, Bakayoko would be the Kessie replacement and Adli would be an additional player. Bakayoko should never be Kessie's replacement. He can be Kessie's sub, but not replacement. The guy is a bench player. You think there is no reason why Chelsea have been loaning him out every single year? Or why no team he's ever played in has decided to sign him permanently? Personally speaking I want Tonali-Bennacer to be our starting pair, even for this season. Adli and Bakayoko can be their subs. I don't think we've signed Adli for the AM role. In that regard I think we'll make another tentative for Faivre, even this January I read.

Well, technically, Bakayoko would be the Kessie replacement and Adli would be an additional player. He can apparently occupy both positions. Adli for me is more someone to cover for Bennacer than Kessie because he is a playmaker, and from the highlights I've seen of him he can play either deep or higher up the pitch. So having him with us this season would have been a great addition. But I understand why we had to compromise and leave him there for the season. At least he's getting regular football, which will mean he'll be better come next season when he joins the rest of the team QUOTE (X-Offender @ Sep 23 2021, 11:41 AM) Bakayoko should never be Kessie's replacement. I think he's just a player that needs to feel appreciated by his coach and the club. Pioli is great at integrating players and bringing the best out of them. If Baka can perform at the level he did 2 years ago, he'd be a steal at 15m. Especially with the prospect of losing Kessie looming Faivre is more of a wide player though

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Sep 23 2021, 04:48 PM) Even if he performs at the level of 3 years ago, he's still not good enough to be a starter if we want to make that step ahead quality-wise. Bakayoko is a bench player, no more and no less. Great to have with you, but still a bench player.
Faivre is someone who can play both centrally and wide. At Brest for example in the last 3 league games he played twice as AM and once as RW. Would have been perfect to have with us right now cos those are the areas we're most lacking. And we were so close to signing him... Hopefully we try to go for him in January And I agree re Baka. But if we get caught out with this Kessie situation, we at least have a back up and with Tonali and Bennacer playing so well, it wouldn't be the huge blow we'd have been expecting just a few months ago

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Sep 24 2021, 01:34 PM) Gazzetta writes that we might go for both Adli and Faivre in January, especially if Kessie leaves beforehand for PSG or some other club. Goes to show how much they know. Adli is already a Milan player (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Gazetta have really gone down the quality ladder these past few years Anyway, Di Marzio reported that we have sent an important offer to Kessie's agent and the management is confident that this will be the right offer to close the deal. Let's see...

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Sep 24 2021, 08:45 PM) No no, they meant that we might expedite his arrival.
Hmm, let's see... Gazetta still tends to get most things wrong, especially related to Milan Di Marzio and Romano are pretty much the only two I trust, and even they don't seem to have as much inside knowledge as they did under previous managements
