The Milan transfer market is a huge disappointment for me. Maybe because I had great expectations (despite the fact that in recent years we wern't so active relatively as we needed to). We could have sign great players but we were narrow-minded.
We needed to resolve defence problems at least a year ago but we didn't do a thing even after last year poor defence displays. On wings it's especially bad. Janku needs to play in a LB position and Bonera (he more a CB but Cafu isn't enough anymore) in a RB position so we can prevent balls in to our area from the flanks that caused us so many problems last year. Midfield is great but toward the end of the season the squad gets tired (especially Pirlo who need more rest time in less important games in order to be in his good form towards the end of the season (didn't happen in two previous years)).
Attack will be good if we can keep 3 best strikers fit. Oliveira is better then some people think.

Despite all of this I still believe that we can win Seria A title. I'm sure that Inter somehow will mess it up. We will need great share of luck in the CL cuz Chelsea and Barca are stronger (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I'm not either satisified or disappointed. First of all, I'm happy we got Oliveira. You guys don't know him but I know him very well, and if he plays like he did at Betis, we won't have a minimal thing to worry about our attack. Don't forget Gila and Pippo are professionals and can gaurantee loads of goals. And then we all saw Borrielo tonight, someone not to be underrated, even though he's our 4th striker. Second, I'm mad at our board for not buying someone between Gallas and Oddo. We needed a RB, that's crazy. Cafu can't hold on forever, while Simic and Bonera are no proper right backs. We will suffer in the right wing, that's for sure. As for the rest of squad, I have to say I'm satisfied. Gourcuff and Bonera are a good prospective for the future, while Favalli will be always ready for any kind of emergency. I'm sure next year we'll have a total rebulidng of the team, and nobody will complain about the transfers market for a long while.

Its not that anyone thinks Milan are going to do bad, its that they failed in this transfer market with the objective that they explicitly told the world that they were going to accomplish.

In comparing other teams in the transfer to what we got, we don't measure up very well.

It's $22M + Vogel for Oliveira .. He is good, but doesn't fill the void that was left by Shevchenko. I mean on paper, cz I don't want to criticize him b4 I give him a chance on the pitch first.

Gourcuff, well we don't know what Carlo is up to, who knows he might have a place for him on the team; just like Pirlo (an AM) but placed him in the perfect spot that made him infamous the world over.

Bonera, I mean after the game last night, he was extremely solid at the back !

Sept.1 came with no surprise, thats true, but lets give Milan a chance to see why they didn't buy any others in this transfer window

Deportivo's Tristan and Scaloni released from contracts

MADRID, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Former Spain striker Diego Tristan and Argentina midfielder Lionel Scaloni have been released from their contracts with Deportivo La Coruna.


Both players had been left out of coach Joaquin Caparros's plans for the season, but failed to secure moves to other clubs before the end of the Aug. 31 transfer deadline.

'Neither Scaloni nor I deserve this kind of treatment because we have given a lot to this club,' Tristan told the Marca website on Friday.

'Now we are without a club to play for. We will hand the matter over to the players' association.'

As they have not been registered to play with Depor, under FIFA rules the players are free to join another side at any time.

The 30-year-old Tristan, who has won 15 caps with Spain, joined Depor from Real Mallorca in 2000.

Scaloni, 28, joined Depor in 1998 and was a member of the Argentina squad at the World Cup finals in Germany. He spent the second half of last season on loan to West Ham United.

I really have to agree with the sentiments of I Rossoneri and other malcontents here. In a transfer windom when the majority of one of the world's best clubs was there for the taking at Juve, we didn't get one. That was the most ridiculous failure of all. Perhaps Juve didnt want to sell to us, but you just make them offers they can't refuse. If anyone has the money to do it, its Burlusconi.

Then, the ridiculous series of strikers we seemed to court, ranging from Crespo throguht Ibra, Torres etc to finish up with Tevez, then lose him, who was openly for sale, to West Ham is embarassing.

So we missed all of our good chances. Then, what we did do, was poor.

Bonera is OK, I don't critisze that, he could be a young and solid addition for our defence, versatile too. Gourcuff may have been a decent purchase for the future, in 5 years of something, but right here, right now, he is cannot be ready so makes little difference to our current disposable squad for this season,a t least. Favalli we all know was a total joke. And then theres Mr Olivera. How many strikers do we have now. Just 3 + Borriello. I really hope this Olivera guy grows into a prolific striker for us, but somehow I doubt it. We've also lost Amoroso who could have been handy. Olivera sounds like a sicknote, always injured, so we needed a 4th striker with him coming. Now all we have is Borriello.

For a giant like AC Milan, the transfer window was a complete joke, we lost 3 massive players form all 3 positions at the end of last seaosn, and have not replaced any of them satisfactorily. As has been said, Silvo sure did give us a big surprise. It was being unblelievably cr*p on the transfer market. We wont win Serie A, and thank god our CL grp is kind. If we don't get in some proper heavywiegts in Jan, then this season will be utterly trophyless..........AGAIN.

I share the same feeling .. I have this feeling that we might end up empty handed come the end of the season, but still I believe Milan can overcome anything.

Well the Jan window is an option, but let's just keep the faith in the group that we have and hopefully we'll make it through.

I know that to compare our team on paper to the likes of Chelsea, Madrid, Barcalona, etc .. We don't stand a chance (TBH), but when kick off starts, we all saw how strong Milan was against the BIG teams. Although those teams have reinforced themselves even further, Milan will make it come the end of the season.

I also believe that ths transfer period was bad!!!! when the team obviously needs reinforcements - which will be needed much more last year, so that makes it even worse a t. period for the future - and we don't sign the players we need it HAS to be bad!!!

BUT Milan is not worse than last year IMO - we were much less Sheva-dependent last season than the seasons before that, we even won every game we played without him which was impossible before. That means we can win Serie A cause Inter is not that much better to trouble us till the end but I doubt our CL fortune; we will need MUCH luck to win it not because we're not good enough just because we're a tired team!!!

That's why I was happy when he was linked with us. He may not have the potential Sheva had, but he's surely faster and more agile. And he's been injured only once. Yes, for a long time, but only once.

Nah, Ambrosini is like glass. You push him and he breaks into little pieces. Oliveira doesn't have that problem, I'm sure about it.
