I sort of understand what you're saying. But then you're hypothesizing there is another side to the man. I believe he just genuinely is arrogant. As for SAF's interview, surely Jose is not going to give THE SAF any lip? He didn't give Carletto much lip here either. He knows the rep of the person he is up against and what could give him a mental advantage.

But as for your last point, see when it comes to football, I'm a traditionalist. The coaches historically have been gentlemanly, while footballers have more of a leeway. Which is why, when it comes to Balotelli, I'm more forgiving. If the boy had been doing crap like that when he was 26, I'd not have wanted him in. But he is 22 and he really doesn't do too many bad things, just indisciplined things. He's a nice guy overall imo.

Once again, I have nothing against Jose the person, because I do not know Jose the person. I'm against Jose the manager.

Jose as a tactician, is very meticulous and researches well, but his style is too functional for me to appreciate. My same gripe with Allegri too for example. Jose's tactics are forgivable only if you're winning, else his situation will be like it is at Madrid.

You can't compare the arrogant one with a boy like Balotelli. Balotelli is an immature idiot, the arrogant one is a very smart deliberate a-hole!

Well the people around him say there's another side to the man. I don't know him personally. They say there's Jose the coach who is constantly thinking about what to say, it's all an act. Then there's Jose the man who just likes to joke and stuff. Fergie said after games he gives him a lot of stick and SAF feels he can be himself around Jose because he can take a joke. As for not giving SAF lip, he did after their first meeting when the Scot accused Victor Baia I believe of diving to get Keane sent off. Mourinho stood up for his goalie and criticised SAF very strongly.

I think what it comes down to is some people will just dislike someone and refuse to think there's any possible reason other than he's a bad person, that's how I see everything dst says about him. His mind is made up and no matter what is said, he'll dismiss anything remotely positive.

The opposite could be said about you. You like him and you'll justify anything he does.

I think that's unfair though, I'd change my mind if I believed in what you say, I just don't.

Not really, I never condoned what he did to Tito the other year.

Can't say I'm surprised, the sport is broken, too much money in the game.

As for the Champions League game on English soil, this is the one that initially springs to mind. I think refs are somewhat biased in a lot of games, but there seemed to be geniune disbelief from quite a large number of people during this game. I'd be more surprised if this game wasn't fixed.

Most of my friends know I'm a big fan of Serie A and sort of jokingly mock it asking stuff like "Do you know what the results will be at the weekend?" and stuff. But this widespread corruption has got me thinking that at least Serie A makes an effort to clean up its leagues by punishing teams. Surely other leagues know some of what is going on, but choose to turn a blind eye to it all to avoid the bad publicity.

+infinity. I've always thought that. whoever thinks La Liga (for example) is clean, then they're just fooling themselves.

I think it's the general mentality of Italians. They just love a good drama and they thrive in it as well

I had no idea Ronaldo had reached the 100 cap mark until today. impressive for a 28yo. with at least 5 more years ahead of him and his amazing physical condition, he can easily become Portugal's top all time appearance maker.
