What do you guys think about Messi sending a signed shirt to Muller. an arrogant, condescending, patronizing, etc. gesture or a nice, classy, respectful gesture?

I don't know why some say it's arrogant. while Muller may be a legend and all that, Messi is not exactly a nobody himself.. why shouldn't he send a signed shirt with a nice massage to Muller? because he's 25, or because he hasn't won enough with Argentina? both are completely irrelevant.

I don't see anything wrong with it, Messi surpassed Muller's record. Both are great, each in his respective time.

because he never asked for it? If you're going to send a shirt out, give it to a fan, not somebody who won't care.

It can be interpreted both ways, but Messi isn't a pr!ck like Ronaldo, so I consider it an honorable gesture.

It was a joke about the fact he'd taken stuff for his hormone deficiency.

Awards are mostly fake anyway. It's all about publicity rather than giving it the deserving player. If it was about deserving they'd have 2 each. Bale and Giggs also wouldn't be Player of the Year winners. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

That's the thing, if Cristiano did this it would be interpreted a whole different way but that's what the media's opinion can do to people, they read, they repeat (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

A bit like when Jose threw his Premier League winners medal into the Chelsea fans. People labelled it disrespectful. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Probably mentioned previously as it's not exacly new news, but Pro Patria's punishment for the racism against Boateng was to play 1 game behind closed doors. That's why racism is still going strong in football, FIFA don't care about it.

Ajax fined for this banner.

(IMG:http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Football/Pix/pictures/2013/1/18/1358516098018/Ajax-fans-show-the-banner-008.jpg)

Great job UEFA. It's no wonder that Celtic are allowed to make political banners and sets of fans are allowed to racially abuse players - more important things like this need to be stopped, how dare fans not be happy with the modern game!

QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Jan 31 2013, 10:04 AM) *
Well that's the thing right? Don't we have enough drama queens on the pitch already? To me all this kind of provocation is totally unnecessarily. Between Suarez, Busquets and Mourinho, football has become close to a soap opera.

Ancelotti and Guardiola given excellent technical interviews. The sort of thing as a football fan I'm interested in. If people ask them stupid questions, or questions meant to elicit dramatic responses, well boo. I'd rather the reporters get educated, than my manager become entertaining interview candidates.

If I want to see entertaining press conferences I'll look up Jerry Springer on youtube. It's almost the same thing.

He doesn't do it for drama, that's the point. Everything he does, everything, is done to try and create a certain mentality for his team or to do something for his team. If they lose, he might do something dramatic. All it's doing is taking the pressure of his team.

There's no coach more technically minded coach than Jose that I've seen. That's one of the reasons I admire him more than others, because his tactics and stats are out of this World. I believe it was Ashley Cole who said when the played Barca he was given a video on the player he'd be up against, it was full of every peice of information you would ever need. Then he said Jose said to only play in a certain area, he will follow you, and he will then be tired in the 70th minute. On the 70th minute Cole made a run and he was too tired to keep tracking him, the immense confidence that gave him as a player made you feel like you can't lose.

Ancelotti and Guardiola have no personality in football. They are dull and avoid 90% of questions. I'm guessing the anti-Mourinho bunch don't want Balotelli in Milan and hate him and think he's a prick, right? He's a better comparison than Suarez/Busquets, they're more like Guardiola/Ancelotti in that they have zero personality. They're just boring and miserable too.
