And what team did we start with against Juve? Boateng, Seedorf, Cassano and Ibra. Hardly 3 DMs and we lost and we were awful. But the fans no best right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Oh, Abate was missing for that game, BTW, I'm assuming - as crap as he is - he's considered a first teamer, no?

the first match against Juve was purely disaster, with Ibra considering milan game as boring and thinking quitting football, you do remember right. above all he showed no character in no game, there were some good matches which indeed proved the next 3 to 5 matches we lost or drew against weaker teams. consider the game vs arsenal and juve away. the guy had the lead of 7 points some time and within few weeks he went down to -4, ridiculous for milan material..huh

Agreed, that was the time when some of my Juve friends were saying they'd be lucky with a 3rd place finish. Because obviously, they were expecting a few more draws, and maybe even a loss or two. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) It all went up for them from there, and terribly, terribly down for us from there. That's what I was referring to in one of my post last month.

I wouldn't mind if we lose a whole bunch of dead weight and get some better. Coach, players, doctors, all included.

This may sound cynical but should this mistake be repeated I would think it certain Milito must have saved Abate's niece from drowning in a pool somewhere sometime.

Definitely I would start with the Coach, he is no Milan Material, no doubt. he clinched only scudetto last year (and won supper coppa as inter were changing coaches every three months, not because of his tactics-as they were all wrong) and due to poor Juve and Inter performances over the term. You could see leonardo motivating some antonini and abate material and raise their game. but this dude is cheap and should be sacked as the last game finishes. every player he brought was injured, be it unluckily or due to applying wrong training methods.
Anyway, we need a decent midfielder and defender back ups and promotion of some primavera or whatever they call to the first team, and also cancel out contracts to some old rubbish Yepes, MVB, Gatusso and other people and let the young blood flood...

Yeah, I'm in your camp. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) While it will be all too easy to dump everything on Allegri, he never did inspire much confidence in me when it comes to suitability of leading such a big club as ours. That's why Fillipo, Han, X-Off, me and others always get the feeling that the guy still suffers from Small-Club Mentality®.

As for saying goodbye to old hags, and investing money, a lot of it will depend on Berlusconi. I see those Juve turds are after Cavani now, after winning the league (and Napoli potentially missing out on CL). That would be another deadly blow to our domestic title chances if they get a player like him.

We've been through the Abate debate before. actually he isn't a terrible defender (despite his recurring howlers in big games (you forgot to mention how he stood and watched Arsenal score that first goal when it should've been him covering the near post, but whatever)), problem is he adds nothing special to our offensive game and that's what really irks me about him. last night I was actually surprised to see he managed to have 2 proper crosses and 2 fairly good shots at goal! it's unacceptable for me that Milan's RB has such a low output in attack. it's unacceptable to me that Milan's RB crosses the ball with his eyes closed. that's mediocrity. and worse than that, in many games he doesn't even get to have these few crosses and shots anyway. he just runs the length of the pitch like a headless chicken, and do a bit of defending.

He could make a decent sub, nothing more.

As for De Sciglio, he actually played just as good as the last game. say what you want but it really means a lot to me when a 19yo kid with only 3 games under his belt comes in and plays so confidently in a game as big as the derby.

I never said anything about his end product, in fact I did say, multiple times, that he needs to work a lot more on it as it's just not up to par. But everything else he does is always good. The odd defensive mistake can be expected. It can be expected from some of the best players around. Casillas and Buffon make mistakes in goal, Nesta, Silva, Vidic, Puyol, etc all make some mistakes along the course of a season, so it's ridiculous to condemn Abate for making a total of 3 this season. Maybe because 2 of those were against Milito, but mostly by chance.

And this season he hasn't been as good as he was last, but then again he's suffered 4 injuries this season which usually come in when he's getting back on his feet, while last season he had none.

De Sciglio could be great, I did not deny that. But I'm still not falling into that trap of thinking the kid could be the next saviour and he ends up being a dud or a player that keeps getting loaned around Serie A for the rest of eternity. He's decent for now, and he put in a good performance against Inter, but I'm really not going to get ahead of myself and saying that he's as good as Abate right now is just ridiculous

If you don't want to see the difference between a defensive midfielder and a full back in a system without wingers, I have nothing to say.

Allegri does not play Muntari as a DM though does he? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Allegri plays him as some sort of retarded playmaker, because in Allegri's twisted mind Muntari can be a creative mid. That's why he plays him in the position that in the past under him was occupied by Seedorf, Pirlo or Aquilani

Did you even watch yesterdays game? Judging by your comments, obviously not.

Am I talking about just yesterday's game?

I'm talking in general that's what Muntari is asked to do. And what do you really view Muntari's role as in the team? He's not the one braking play (unless you consider fouling every player he touches as being a DM), he doesn't make the type of runs Nocerino does, he mostly attempts to ping the ball around (unsuccessfully most of the time). Tell me, who do you see trying to make the sweeping long ball during the game? It's always Muntari.

So don't tell me that Allegri plays him in a purely defensive role because that is just not the case

Kurt - Han, you two have been like a bickering married couple today. I know we're all disagreeing a lot, but my God the divisions in personality and opinion seem to be exaggerated somewhat now.

A Juve fan I've known for years sent me a message today. Not shocking, but the fact he ignored me for the past 2 months while we've looked in contention, particularly after Buffon's shocker, but suddenly messages me today makes him a wee bit of a hypocrite.

Well we all do that when our team wins so it's not a shock. They've been in hell these last few years, some free celebration time should be alloted

An almost magnanimous post!

Well at one point you just have to admit that we've been nowhere near good throughout this entire season. Even when we put in big scores, it was mostly laboured with the odd moment here and there resulting in a goal.

We couldn't even put in a decent performance against even one of the top sides in the league. And you can't even say that we were cheated out of any of them (aside from the game against Juve), we were just plain cr@ppy in all of them.

And yes the injuries were truely crippling, not to mention some big big games in the CL did not help while other teams like Real and Bayern got off scott free until they reached the semis. But you just cannot overlook the fact that we've just been bad this season

And while Juve have remained unbeaten, had we had an even slightly better record against the top 4, we would have beaten them to this title, they accumulated 15 draws along the course of this season. How should that be champion material in any scenario. But sadly if Juve were just good, we've been just bad.
