Milan’s interest in Carlos Tevez could materialise in the next few days after he walked out on Corinthians, but they face competition from Manchester United.

The Argentinean has been linked with the Rossoneri as they continue their search for Andriy Shevchenko’s replacement.

Tevez expressed his desire to play for one of Europe’s major clubs, although he is contracted to Corinthians until 2007.

The 22-year-old striker took his side to the Brazilian Championship last year scoring a total of 19 goals, but is now ready to leave after his relationship with new Coach Emerson Leao turned sour.

“I will no longer play for Corinthians if Leao is on the bench. I’m leaving and won’t play for him ever again,” snapped the young talent.

He hasn’t turned up to training for two days, infuriated with the new tactician’s decision to strip him of the captain’s armband.

“I don’t know how much longer I will stay with Corinthians. I may well have already played my last game for this club.”

Milan are waiting to see what the future holds after tonight’s crunch match against Red Star Belgrade. If the Rossoneri fail to qualify for the Champions League group stage, their summer market strategy may officially close or at least be reconsidered.

They can’t afford to hesitate too much, as reports suggest Manchester United are prepared to offer £25m to bring Tevez to England.

Meanwhile, Milan have not yet ruled out the idea of bringing Ronaldo back to the peninsula. Real Madrid Coach Fabio Capello was cryptic when questioned on the Brazilian international’s future.

“Ronaldo to me is only a Real Madrid player at the moment,” said Capello in a Press Conference.

“The fact that he is courted by many teams means that he is talented, but I believe that a player should stay only if he is glad to do so,” added Don Fabio.

“If that is not the case, then he must speak out in order for the club to examine the situation and consider the options.”

I doubt it very much. And I know he's a great player, but his recent actions aren't very impressive - do we need a troublemaker like him at Milan?

his "recent actions" are that he wants to leave because his car was attacked by fans while his wife and kid were inside??? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Why get pissed at the coach for that? Or does he blame the coach for his team playing badly? Or is he pissed, coz he was removed as Captain?

And how well do Argentines and Brazillians get along on the same team?

Their coach doesn't like Argentinian players and want him out. The captain thing was only to piss him off

What a great point! I'm serious! Now that I think about it, I don't want to blame the managment as much anymore. Sheva left us in a terrible situation and we can't seem to find a solution for it. I think the Milan managment and especially Berlusconi, really care about who they want to bring and they are being very picky about it! One thing I know for certain, is that Milan don't sign bad apples. And they usually like to sign a player that likes to play for Milan. But this time they are being extra picky about it because we are talking about replacing Milan's best player in the past decade! Believe me when I tell you Milan are hard at work and are only keeping their options open. We should have some faith. I know how frustrating it can be as I have expressed it myslef before, but let's not jump into conclusions until the transfer market closes.
