I agree with most, Prince is not an AM. but he has done well in that position.

When Arsenal was running low on defensive options a few seasons back, Flamini was used as LB. He played so well to that position, wenger was actully planning to play him there regularly. But Flamini requested not to be played there.

I think it was RB. And Carlo played him there a lot. He's decent but not anything special

Speaking of RBs, I think Abate's crossing has improved a lot this season, yes he's made a couple of errors in defence this season that we thought he'd eliminated from his game, but I think that's just down to his form not being as good as last season (I think this applies to pretty much all the players tbh)

Carlo really played him a lot there? Are you sure? Somehow I fail to remember. At Marseille he played the LB.
But anyway, he's useless on pretty much every position because we have better players to cover them.

As for Abate...IMO I'll say his crossing improved the moment he makes more then 2 assists.

I don't really have a problem with Prince at the AM position. I can understand and maybe even respect that as a 'tactical innovation'...the same way Carlo played a #10 at what is traditionally a DM position...

But that's not what bothers me. What bothers me is the lack of any creative impetus and how quickly we switch to the longball tactic. I refuse to believe that having Ibra makes one such a one-dimensional team.

Pretty sure he played the RB position under Carlo, I can't tell you which season it was exactly but I do remember him playing there when our situation at RB was dire.

Yes he needs to make more assists, but imo being a good crosser means more than just making assists, it's how many dangerous situations are created from those crosses. I think that's what's improved most this season, as opposed to the crosses to the keeper he regularly whipped in last season

He played a few matches as RB, but not a lot like han says.

No, i mean when he played for arsenal, he was played as left back and did very well.

QUOTE
While he is naturally a defensive midfielder, Flamini was mainly used as a full back throughout the 2005–06 season after injuries to Ashley Cole, Gaël Clichy, Pascal Cygan, Lauren and Kerrea Gilbert. Despite being right-footed, Flamini performed admirably as a left back in the latter stages of Arsenal's domestic league and Champions League campaign.

Club Career

Under Arsenal, third paragraph.

So, even though he did well as a left back, doesnt mean he is one.
