QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Feb 3 2011, 02:42 PM) This has got to be one of the strongest U21 squads I've seen, incredible. Usually our squads are full of fringe players and backups, but the majority of these lot are playing a decent amount of football. Thought Loach was going to be really good though the last few years at Watford he's struggled a bit. It's crazy that Richards is still in there. How is Delph doing anyway? He was crazily good at Leeds, a little frustrating that Villa got him then stuck him on the bench, I know he's been hampered with injuries as well. Quite like the look of Lansbury think he will be decent. Didn't he play in goal a few games back for the U21's and do pretty well?!

Quite a few EPL clubs were after Loach all summer, think United were one of them. Delph has looked decent when he's played, though he really needs to calm down with his tackles, he just throws himself at the player! He has been in the squad for pretty much every game he's been fit to be honest, but he was out for about 8 months and came back and started against Spurs - then got injured again! Don't remember him playing in goal!? Arsenal fans seem to be quite high on him though, can't imagine he'll be better than Wilshire though - they're going to have one hell of a Britis midfield in the future with the likes of Wilshire and Ramsey. Makes a nice change.

Makes a nice change. I don't know about Loach, he was in goal when he was 17 but at 22 coming onto 23 his career hasn't really progressed and he's made a few howlers at Watford of late. Perhaps never properly recovered since England were battered in the final and he had possibly his worst career game. He did play at Leeds, kind of their mentality a little! Hopefully will show more promise in the next few seasons. I thought he did because someone got sent off or injured or something, think he did really well as well, and he's by no means a big guy in football terms. Again he looked decent at Watford and I think he's doing ok at Norwich. Definitely one for the future. Heard so much hype about Wilshere for years but it does seem he has the talent to back it up, if he was Spanish the world would be touting him as the next Xavi/Cesc/Iniesta. Ramsey I'm not too sure about, sure he had decent games a few seasons back but after breaking his leg I think it's going to be tough for him, especially in Arsenal's midfield nowadays.

1-0. FT
Very good 2nd half performance, the better side. Really looking forward to how we do in the summer with the likes of Richards, Gibbs, Kelly, Walker, Delph, Henderson, Wilshire and Sturridge to come in on top of the players that played today.
Denmark (hosts) Spain England Belarus Ukraine Iceland Switzerland Czech Republic
There's no reason we can't get to the Final again, anything less than the last 4 would but a shocking tournement.
