Proven talent yes, but don't really think he can step it up with the big boys. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) Most of us know what he is capable of, and rarely have I seen Hamsik take the bull by the horns in big/crunch matches for Napoli. That's not to say he can't when he players with a team of champions like Milan, but I'd personally look elsewhere.

You'd rather spend 30 million on Ganso then on Hamsik?Really?Ganso is a big gamble, considering his injuries.I also haven't seen much from him,I'll be looking to watch him in coppa america,if he recovers from injury. He's only played in the brazilian leauge, and although his talent is immense, that's not enough.

Hamsik has played in the serie A,and comparing him to Lavezzi or Cavani is irrelevant.Lavezzi is an inconsistent player, who I don't rate higher than Hamsik. While,Cavani is without doubt the best striker of serie A this season.

Now,if we're getting Ganso for 20 million,then that's another thing completely.

Completely agree. Lavezzi doesn't show up every game. If it were not for Cavani, Napoli would probably be 6th-7th in the league

It's not about gambling, it's about what this team needs. We need a creative midfielder to fill in Pirlo's shoes. Hamsik clearly isn't that type of player. Besides, he doesn't exactly convince me. He has always flopped in the big games, and that could be especially true if he joins an important club.

I must thoroughly disagree. Lavezzi is vital to Napoli. In fact, I'd go as far as to say he constitutes 70% of their attacking strength. Cavani has become a prolific goalscorer mainly thanks to Lavezzi. Check the stats of the games he's been absent, and you'll notice Napoli are just a normal team without him.

With Napoli in the CL, I'd say there's about...... 0% chance of us signing either Hamsik or Lavezzi.

I agree we need a midfielder to fill in Pirlo's shoes, and Hamsik is definitely not that choice. If we we're to buy him,he'd be an attacking midfielder. But,his price tag is going to be immense anyway.

I was referring to Ganso as a gamble, because if he'd get injured our only other creative midfielder would be Seedorf whose not getting any younger. Now,if Pirlo was staying and Ganso is coming to us.I think that would be less of a gamble, because Pirlo is still capable of playing a whole season.

Since, our transfer campaign will be only for midfielders.Allegri, and Galliani said that we aren't looking for defenders anymore, and we already have enough attackers. So,I'm hoping we will get a mix of a world class players, squad player, and players with potential or highly rated. While also considering what positions we need in the midfield,as you said.

There are also many rumors about Sandro from Spurs.
Nasri too is mentioned (along with merda's and Bayern's interest).
There's a story about Pastore = 30M + Cassano.

We want Pastore.

Link

The article is from Pellegatti though, who always speaks BS about calciomercato.

Hasn't that been said/rumored for a year now? For those of you who watch Palermo often, objectively how much is Pastore worth?

Nope, we haven't been linked to Pastore for quite some time now. The last year has been all Ganso talk.

I think Pastore is worth €30 million, and I think Zamparini would let him go for all that money, no matter what he may actually say (€50 million... yeah, right).

Forget about Pastore guys ... I like our attack the way it is, we just need a Zidane esque midfielder, a midfield anchor and we are set.

As for defenders, I think Mexes and Taiwo are enough to reinforce an already strong back line.

We don't need anymore .. Allegri even stressed in that he will be calling up some youth players for preseason training. So what more (IMG:style_emoticons/default/96.gif)

Rossoneri7:We're going to compete on 3 fronts next year, what you said maybe wouldn't be enough to secure us another scudetto.

Well, if we do sign Pastore, then it means Boateng will have to switch back to midfield. But with Pirlo gone, we need a playmaker there. That's why signing Ganso would have been more ideal, because he's a genuine playmaker. I really don't know what Allegri got in his mind, but we definitely need some quality in that midfield of ours!

You described my opinion as laughable. That's insulting in anyone's language.

Yes it is but that's my opinion of it. I'm not attacking you and I have no problem with you saying whatever you want I just said what I thought of your post. And I said that because I believe you post was offensive too. Offensive to common sense... you can't just say someone is rubbish just because you do not like him (well unless he actually is (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )... in this case it is completely unfounded and obviously driven by strong dislike...

in any case, you cannot whine about being attacked about what you said... you can say whatever you want and I can too. if you think I'm being stupid just say it, I won't be offended and in the end I don't have a problem with you saying so.

It's too early to make plans. Many "if's" are the two sentences I sorted out. We must wait...hell, we've been harping around with this Ganso fellow for a year and look now what happened - he got injured and forced us to think twice and search for other options. We really cannot tell right now.

Hamsik - not worth the money, negotiating and time in general.
Nasri - wouldn't be bad but Bayern are already there to take him.
Sandro - cannot rate him - is he any good?
Pastore - would be fine, but as R7 said above, we need a different player.

As for our defense - we cannot rely on Janku, Zambro, Antonini, Abate and Taiwo. I've made some research and heard mixed things about Taiwo. Some like him, his offensive presence is often mentioned but not his defensive capabilities. I'd say he's average as a defender. We need a better fullback IMO. Antonini should be let go. Zambro is not getting any younger - he's still great - but we need a stronger selection, or Allegri will once more use Bonera as LB.

Buy Ganso

Merkel and Strasser to play more

Keep Pirlo, Van Bommel and Max....

Adios to Seedorf (unless coaching role) Gattuso, Antonini, Janku, Oddo

Albertinho back, promote more youngsters (berreta) and give them game time.

There, one purchase (on top of mexes taiwo), three renewals, some wages cut and youth brought through.

Our def is good for a few years more, refreshing the mid with Merkel and Strasser, getting rid of overpaid aging "stars" and bringing back promising future talent (albertinho) and giving players like berreta more playing time is common sense from a financial point of view and from a mental point of view...... By that i mean if our really young players, and i am talking about the 8,9,10,11,12 year old's see that players that work through the ranks at Milan actually do get first team opportunities and not just get loaned out to lower division clubs for playing time, then that hope will inspire them to greater things.

We as a club have shipped out far too many promising players that have come back to bite us in the ***, then we end up buying them back.......its crazy..... Develop the talent means they have to play at top level, not every week but bleed them gradually, with the set up we have at Milan a youngster will grow far more quickly here than if he is loaned out to a team that does not have the facililties we have, the training grounds, the med facilities, the coaching staff etc etc.

My biggest complaint against AC in the 23 years i have followed them is their fear of playing a youngster, and yeah you can throw Maldini, Pato etc against that statement but there have been very few.

I remember when Francesco Coco played his first game, and i thought possibly a future replacement for Paolo. I remember when Max Ambrosini played his first game and i thought natural replacement for Albertini (without the freekicks of course) but point is over those 23 years the excitement of new players coming has been from transfers and not from within the club. In these times of financial burden on all of us, the tide needs to change, to remain successful on the domestic, european and world stage we need to develop from within.

If we can achieve that, then that would leave more money for buying that one or two "world class" stars that can change a game on their own.

Looking forward to the new season...Forza Milan!!!!!
