So Kurt your just saying that both Lippi and Carlo made a mistake for playing him. So are you telling me that Lippi was wrong for playing him in the 2006 World Cup? Well he can't be mistaken cuz he is one of the reasons why Italy won it.

Didn't Ambrosini get MotM against United in the 2nd leg? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Actually, yes. Ambro did. I've got the player ratings from Gazzetta. He got an 8.5.

That said, Rino was also immense that season and was instrumental in Italy winning the World Cup.

Which paper is that from, d'Arc? It's not from Gazzetta dello Sport (which is the main Italian sport paper and which is only printed in Italian).

EDIT: Here are Gazzetta's ratings (from the May 3 0207 print edition):

Dida 6.5
Oddo 6.5
Nesta 7
Kaladze 7.5
Janku 7
Gattuso 8
Pirlo 7
Ambrosini 8.5
Kaka 8
Seedorf 8
Inzaghi 6
Gilardino 7

No it's not Gazzetta but I can't tell really which paper is, I forgot, cos' the pic. is 2 years old and when Kaka was transfered to Real I removed all posters and things like this from my wall and doors (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The point is that Seedorf was better for 2 "points" it can't be a lot of difference with other papers ...

Actually, it can. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Player ratings range wildly from paper to paper and from country to country.

Gazzetta generally has the most reliable ratings in Italy and they're the ones I go by -- for online ratings, I like those of datasport.

Ratings (and anything else) from goal.com I tend to ignore as useless. English papers...well, with respect to Kurt and Ash and the other Englishmen on the board, tend to not be very favorable toward Italian clubs and most are little more than gossip rags.

That paper looks like The Sun. The numerous '9' ratings make it seem like The Sun too, I know Italian papers and such rarely give out 9s.

@ Fishdoll (& d'Arc.LP)

Not to disagree with those ratings, but IINM UEFA.com users pick the MofM not Gazzetta or any other paper... I'd like to know who was UEFA's MotM that game cause I'm not sure it was Ambro. my guess would be either Kaka or Seedorf (EDIT:) or Gattuso!

Like you said, the rating range from paper to paper, that does not neccissarily mean that one is more right then the other, it's a person's personal oppinion of how each player performed. That does not make it a fact even if one came from Gazzetta and the other cam from The Sun.

Problem is that UEFA screwed up their page so you can't go through the history of wins and view match reports/stats of each match the winner played. So I can't really find who was voted MoTM (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Well Ambro was awarded MotM in 1 paper. Anybody is more than welcome to find any game, ever, where Rino was named MoM.

Off the top of my head, against Ukraine in the World Cup and many other times as well
