Hmm...I like that one. Zee could actually come on for Pirlo and deal some serious damage. We still need width on the right though. Who do you have in mind?

No one really, I'm personally ok with Zambro, but maybe that's just because I'm a big fan... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif)

Are you familiar to the word 'suicide'?

Some people in here rush their ideas when they must realize that the most important thing for a team is balance. There's as much balance in the line-up above as in the Pisa tower.

It has one DM, which is enough imo, all top teams only use one DM. Ganso would be the unbalance as he wouldn't be doing any defending that it why a box to box guy would be more suitable for us, but then again Barca play with one DM Xavi and Iniesta, on paper it doesn't look all that balanced, but with the pressing game they play they could even leave out Toure and it still wouldn't make a difference. It all depends on the system Allegri is going to go with, it doesn't really have anything to do with the formation.

Imo, a coach can make a 4-2-4 formation look awsome but he can also make it into the most boring formation out there

^^

A bit harsh? It just misses one DM. Remove Pirlo and put in Essien and that's a monster lineup. Assuming Ganso is as good as Kaka was when he started out. Otherwise you could put in Pirlo instead of Ganso, and play Flamini/Rino as han suggested.

@han: That lineup of yours is crying out for Cafu isn't it. I love Zambro too, but he isn't the cavalier knight of old. Prefers to be safe than sorry.

Yeah a couch can do that to any formation.

I don't think we need that much push from the fullbacks considering we'll be playing wide forwards. On the left we Dinho and Antonini have amazing chemistry but if the right winger and the RB don't have that chemistry they could easily get in each other's way instead of giving support to one another

What's the story with Primavera players that can be moved up? I hear names like ziggoni and verdi are they any good? And what has happened to Palloschi is there any chance of him coming back or even should he come back?

I don't know about the Primavera players, I think some of them are very talented like Verdi and Albertazzi, but not sure they're ready for the big jump into the first team, or if they'll be loaned out.

As for Paloschi, Milan and Parma are still in talks regarding his contract, which is a co-own.

The latest rumors I've read (it's been a couple of days but I can dig if you want links) are that the Primavera keeper is wanted by several clubs in Serie B, that Bologna want Strasser, and that Cagliari may want a couple of kids (variously reported as Albertazzi, Zigoni, etc). At this point, my guess is that Oduamani and Verdi are likely to be promoted and may actualyl play some.

Barcelona is a unique example where you could play with no DM at all and still be able to achieve balance and results. That's the nature of their game. If we take a rather more concrete example, say Inter, you would realize that they only play with two DMs, Cambiasso and Thiago Motta, but at the same time, both Pandev and Eto'o act as wingers, furnishing an equally defensive and attacking attitude, so the balance of the team is not threatened.

You can't expect Pato and Ronaldinho to do the same thing. Pato because he's unwilling to, like Balotelli, and Ronaldinho because he simply can't. So with Ganzo there, and only Pirlo and Ambro acting as DMs, you would be subject to wide and open attacks by any team. Not to mention Pirlo is more of a creative midfielder, hence he can't contribute to defense as much as Ambro or Flamini or Rino would. Therefore that line-up would never work.

I agree with you, if we're going to continue playing with the 4-2-fantasia module, we'd be better off by signing a box-to-box midfielder, someone like Hernanes or Moussa Sissoko would be ideal.

Many times I have seen Pato drag back and help out the defense (even though he's not really good at it but he's not useless at it either). I don't think it's up to him to decide, but rather what he is told to do by the coach.

Comparing Pato's work rate/attitude to Balotelli's is just wrong. I'm disappointed in you!

Actually, they're the same, but I'm not expecting a Pato fan to ever accept that, so have it your way.

According to Milan News (front page article), Pato has stated that "It is too early to say if I stay with Milan."

Great.
