But Flamini played fewer minutes than Ambrosini, per the stats above, and has the same amount of yellows and reds. If he's on the pitch for the equivalent of a whole game less than Ambrosini and still gets the same number of cards, I'd say that he's more prone to them. So I think my analysis is fair.

not at all, I would agree for yellow cards but red cards are different. Players just don't pick them up every few games it happens once every few months. Your also judging by the minutes which isn't fair. If flamini had the same amount as ambro in terms of minutes than fine. But according your analogy i can say abate is more red card prone than ambro as well.

I think it's a perfectly fair means and standard to evaluate card accumulation. Minutes played per card accumulated. Using this method and the numbers quoted above, we can see that Ambro gets a card approximately every 138 minutes, Rino gets one roughly every 75 minutes, and Flamini gets one roughly every 119 minutes.

Don't like the logic? Not my problem. I'm perfectly happy with my analysis which I think is logical and fair.

EDIT: And that Abate gets one every 148 mins.

first of all its not a fair analogy because if you look at the games flamini has featured in vs ambro you can see we were on the losing end. Second your going by minutes played overall but your completely ignoring the sitaution of the players. When flamini has always played he has been expected to do the gattuso role while ambro was allowed to attack more. If we had a fair ref last night ambro's tally would have def increased.

Lastly the minutes to getting a red card ratio is absoloutly pointless because football doesn't work like that. There are no tactical red cards and there are no intended red card fouls. They are completely anonymous, therefore you cannot say someone is more prone because there is no such thing. The only thing you can base your analogy on is Ambro has recieved less red cards than flamini this season, which would make him thus, in your "theory" less prone to getting red cards but they have the same amount of yellow and red cards; so you cannot even say that.

Why don't we each stick with our respective logics? You clearly disagree with mine and I clearly disagree with yours.

fine but all i'm saying is you look at the situation like its a document in a stats class and it can't be looked at like that. If things worked as you said than many players in the world would look extremely red card prone when the reality is otherwise.

And I think you're wanting to twist the statistics around to create unrealistic justifications to support your position. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I'll also note that I'm not at all sure I in any way agree with your view of 'how things work'. So, like I said, let's just stick with our respective logics.

okay according to your logic than this guy is extremely red card prone, perhaps one of the most if not the most red card prone players in the world.

He comes in at an average of 1 red card for every 7.5 minutes on the field.

I personally rate all of our DMs, its the one area were we're very well equipped. Flamini is more prone to flying in imo, but I think his techincal abilities to those of Rino/Ambro give him an edge.

Having said that, I think Ambro is great at winning the ball and sweeping up, that's why we're seeing him doing so great now that he's finally being played in his right position

Rino is just amazing in the sense that he's an engine for the entire team, when he's on his game he's still one of the best DMs for me, he's so full of energy, power and passion. He's also great at winning balls and releasing it quickly, he doesn't slow play down.

I don't think Flamini has the ball winning capabilities of Rino/Ambro atleast we haven't seen them yet at Milan, but like I said he does have that technical edge over the other 2.

But imo all are great, but we have to accept the fact that both Ambro and Rino are not in their 20s, Rino is now constantly getting injured, when in the past a bulldozer could run over him and he'd still keep playing. Ambro is very injury prone as well, even though he has managed to remain injury free for the last couple of seasons it could only take something minor to keep him out for months

thanks for changing the topic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) , (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) but I agree with you on the flying in part. He does tend to do that over the other two.

That's why he get's carded so many times. Also the fact that he came from the EPL which is more physical and accepting of the way he plays. While Rino and Ambro have spent their entire lives playing Italian football

yeah good point but I think rino's playing for rangers helped a little as well in his animal-ness.

We should send hottor to the epl for a a season or two on loan.

Rino didn't spend that much time at Rangers. Flamini developed into a great player in the EPL.

You won't survive a day in the SPL if you don't know how to kick people effectively... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) he did learn a lot there.

AC Milan Midfielder Gennaro Gattuso Out For Two Weeks - Report

(IMG:http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1344/661100885_c6a50c03e9.jpg)

AC Milan have been dealt a major blow as Gennaro Gattuso is out for two weeks following the injury he sustained in training on Wednesday.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Italian international has undergone tests at Milanello this afternoon, and the results have revealed some bad news for Leonardo.

The report suggests Gattuso has been diagnosed with a first grade muscle tear in the flexors of his right leg.

As a result, he is now expected to miss up to two weeks of action. He will now miss the international friendlies for Italy against the Netherlands, and Sweden respectively.

The rest of the squad trained ahead of this weekend's clash against Lazio. Massimo Ambrosini is likely to take Gattuso's place on Sunday afternoon.

It's not the news Gattuso wanted to hear. He has endured a rotten year with consistent injury woes.

no problem, we have abate, flamini and strasser for cover if he's out even longer.
