f*ck the family crap. It doesn't take precedence over results on the pitch. Family stuff should only be implemented if the players actually give a f*ck and produce on the field, otherwise they should be sold.

Seedorf: 5-10 mil (77k/week) 4m/year
ambro: 5-10 mil (77k/week) 4m/year
gattuso: 5-10 mil (77k/week) 4m/year
Kaladze: 5-10 mil (77k/week) 4m/year
Dida: any price (77k/week) 4m/year
Ronaldinho: 10-20 mil (165k/week) 8m/year

We would take off an enormous 550K a week ( or 28m/year) off our wage bill and have at least 30 Mil to buy new players and thats not even counting the money we could transfer from our wage bill to the transfer fund by getting ridden such a giant burden.

Those players are absoloutly f*cking useless and we could get alot more bang for the buck by selling those worthless veterans and investing in proper youth-->prime players.

If worst comes to worst we could even save money by paying the other team 1m to take them. 5m for ambro/seedorf/kaladze is optimistic.

Christ Almighty, why are you obsessing over this so much? Even to the point that you drag it up once again in a completely unrelated topic (Mourinho) in another thread, throwing in a cheap Dida reference to get a reaction. Quit acting like it's Armageddon. Are you paying their salaries out of your own pockets? You'd think we were the only team in Italy that actually paid their players handsomely.

If we took their salaries and gave them to young do-nothings like Strasser, DiGennaro and Zigoni, would you feel better?

"Any price"? Shaddup. Guess you missed out on his performance last season and are contented to follow the sheep who insist that he just sits on his can doing nothing.

Yeah because paying 4m a season justifies playing for 3 months with half @ss performances. Dida is finished and is a liability for this team. Wages are an important factor for our squad as well as silvio has said many times that wage cuts are in need to take place. If we had gotten rid of this useless baggage maybe we could have kept Kaka or could have signed more players last summer. Furthermore, if our team didn't have leeches like Dida/Oddo/kaladze maybe we wouldn't have been in the stupid financial mess in the first place.

We pay storari 500k a year while Dida earns 4m. Thats how f*ckin sad our administration is.

no theres teams like ajax/psv, genoa/napoli, porto etc who would pay that much to have them. For them they are experienced players who could benefit the squad by playing 1-2 a month.

AC Milan Goalkeeper Marco Storari Earns New Contract - Report
The shot stopper is set to double his money with a new deal...

While AC Milan's forwards may not have been earning their pay packets this season, Marco Storari has been putting in some fine performances in goal for the Rossoneri.

The 32-year-old is out of contract next summer, and Milannews.it reports that the Milan hierarchy are now making a move to remedy the situation.

While Storari is currently on an annual salary of €500,000, his proposed new deal would see him double that to €1m-per-season.

Storari's performances have certainly kept the Diavoli in a number of matches this season, such as last Sunday's goalless draw with Bari.

The former Messina keeper will be expecting to be put through his paces in Milan's next fixture against FC Zurich in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

It's because that's what he's basically worth, a few good games in an utterly crap Milan side notwithstanding. Storari is an average GK who's currently up there with Kalac's 15 minutes of fame in the latter half of the 07-08 season, so I'm not getting all wet with excitement over his performance yet. When he wins us a CL virtually by himself and is named the league's top keeper, as Dida has, then he's worth the big bucks. That won't be happening anytime soon, though.

Milan had better keep in mind that Kalac got a contract extension after '08 and then proceeded to piss away the starting job faster than it takes you or I to pass wind.

I don't care that you hate Dida as much as I love him, but you gotta start seeing the forest for the trees sometime.

we should ship out all those names, in all honesty to Miz Nelson, you would have to be a dida fan ahead of a milan fan to disagree, logistically speaking, this is where we are getting hurt...

Fishdoll thinks that with Dida it's a non-issue because his contract expires June 30, 2010.

Some of the other overpriced players should probably be shown the door in one way or another though.

I agree that we've kept these guys around far too long, but every forum I visit it's posts ad nauseam about how we should get rid of X, Y and Z because it's a strain on our finances. Just gets monotonous in a hurry.

ditto
these players in there day were quality players we all know we held onto some of them to long but i don't anyone guessed how bad our finances were tbh.
Still i hark back to my post from a couple of years ago about how we should trust some younger players WE devolp. Still no one has explained to me how we have the set up at Milanello and produce diddly squat for many a season!

Sadly it seems most are either sold or are out on co-ownership deals that we end up having to buy back (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Its time we stopped buying "aging" stars for some quick shirt sale money and started creating the stars.

If the major obstacle holding this team back is the team's lack of finances, as has been publicly said, then it's pretty logical that the #1 priority should be clearing unneeded salaries. This is a constant to rebuilding a team in any major sport.

I was reading an older thread earlier today about Christian Maldini and it got me thinking..... AC have a great structure for youth development from very early years (is it 8 years old and upwards?) but far too many of these dont make it to the senior squad, obviously some wont make the grade but others that might do never seem to get the chance. If the kids that love Milan, love the shirt never get the chance to prove it how can we ever build for the future without spending money on players. There are loads of players in serie A that are first choice for other teams that were deemed "not to make the grade" at Milan and its pretty saddening and a waste of money!

Oooops another rant there (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

But why should we spend more money on transfers when we obviously put so much into youth development!
