As for the critter name, Ro, you could open up a thread in off-topic and ask for suggestions?

Fishdoll suggests that Diavolino is a nice name.

Ok thanks and ooo I like!

Fishdoll awwwwwwwww!

Mediaset is reporting that when Sthefany's parents were in Italy recently, Pato asked them for permission to propose to her. She's apparently said yes and the two are expected to get married within the next year or so.

Pato will really have to step up next season , I mean now with Kaka gone , the responsibility will be on Pato and at such a young age it will be very difficult for him ; carrying the team on his shoulders like Kaka did will be tough . He has already started to blossom but it will take probably 2 - 3 years for him to be somewhere around his best and until then Milan can only dream of winning the Cl unless something BIG happens ( Pato does something completely out of this world / Ronaldinho is back in good shape / we use our cash wisely ) .

I'm really expecting a lot from this kid . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I don't think it will be all on Pato's shoulders because I expect some new and good faces in the team, but it doesn't seem to me that the boy is scared of responsibilities. I'm not worried!

Well, if his tactless revelation that he consulted Carlo about his future just after Kaka was sold is any indication, he's all but made it clear that he'll bolt in a couple years when the price becomes right.

Pato pledges future to Milan

Monday 15 June, 2009

Milan striker Alexandre Pato insists he is happy to stay at the club amid interest from English outfit Chelsea.

Last week, the 19-year-old Brazil international said he intended to speak to Carlo Ancelotti, the new Chelsea boss, before committing his future to Milan.

He was said to be very disappointed with the Rossoneri in the aftermath of Ancelotti's departure and Kaka's sale to Real Madrid.

“I am happy to stay with Milan,” Pato said. “I don't worry about what you say. I have a contract with Milan, which I want to respect.

“I want to win everything with Milan.”

Pato is currently on international duty with Brazil at the Confederations Cup and was on the bench today as the Seleção beat Egypt 4-3.

He enjoyed an excellent campaign with Milan this season, scoring 15 goals in 27 starting appearances in Serie A.

Hopefully people will stop complaining about him not being committed enough. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Pato again pledges loyalty to Chelsea boss Ancelotti

AC Milan striker Alexander Pato has again touted himself to Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea.

The 19-year-old, in Pretoria with his country for the Confederations Cup, said former Milan coach Ancelotti was a key figure in his development following a £17million move from Brazilian club Internacional last summer.

"'Carlo Ancelotti is a coach and a person who is very important to me," Pato told Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera. "He wanted to bring me to Milan and it was he who made me grow as a player.

"I feel I owe him a lot. It was him who wanted Milan to sign me, and he who has developed me as a player.

"But I have a contract with Milan and it is up to Milan to decide my future."

Now while I know this might be taken as me still blowing Carletto's horn...but what I mean is (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Wasn't this Leo's doing? If not...WTF!!! Most of Leo's rep is coz he 'unearthed' Pato and Kaka. If he's just a glorified negotiator... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Of course it was Milan's scouts that discovered Pato. However, I've read before that Ancelotti himself traveled to watched him in person a couple of times.

Pato is loyal to the guy that preferred to keep him on the bench in order to play Seedorf as an attacking mid?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Sorry this just does not make any sense to me. I'm pretty sure it was Leo that insisted on him and is the one that convinced him to join Milan in the first place as there were offers from Real and Chelsea for him when we bought him.

For me this is all the British media's attemp at grasping at straws. They're recycling things Pato said over and over and everytime making them more dramatic in order to make it seem like he wants to go to Chelsea. The English league is taking a backseet to the Spanish and the media just cannot stand to see that happen.

I say FINALLY and good riddance!!!

It's almost like he's been told to say it. Anytime you mention having a contract with a club as a reason you're going to stay, then it's clear you wouldn't object to a move away, otherwise there's no real need to mention it at all.

I generally only bite on something if it's a close run thing, if Spain were even close to being as good as the Premier League recently, I'd probably argue it's case. But the strength in depth and representation in the Champions League over the last few years is pretty much incomparable to another league.
