So did I just hear correctly that the Newcastle dude's red card was upheld?

Yep. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I think this may very well mean that Collocini plays, God I hope so, he's as bad as Boumsong and Bramble were when they were up there.

Hopefully not. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Just noticed a new site When The Nation Calls about the release of Villas new away shirt. Apparently it's an 'England-inspired' shirt to hail the fact that we've had more players represent England than any other club. I'm presuming it's just going to be white and nothing special though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

The top trumps style things at the bottom of the page are interesting, our first 3 England players scored 4, 5 and a hat-trick on their respective debuts. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

One cannot but show respect to Villa. I read somewhere that they are the last club to field an all-English squad too and not all that long ago, it was in mid-90's I think.

edit: What do you think about Wenger leaving for Madrid? Do you think it'd be a good choice for him?

Also, Barcelona are looking to bring back Fabregas. Honestly I can't see what they'll do with him, they should only get him so that Real don't.

About 1998 I think. Although it wasn't a good game, we lost 4-1 at home to Coventry. Them winning at VP is almost as rare as seeing an all English side in the EPL, what a freak game.

I don't think it would be a good choice for him, nor do I think he'll go. I wouldn't blame him either, the setup at Arsenal is perfect for him, not many other top clubs would give their manager the patience Arsenal do.

I think he'll end up there evtnually, but like you can't see where he'd fit in. They'd have t change their system, which wouldn't make any sense to do.

Good news for us. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Stiliyan Petrov has handed Villa a massive boost by putting pen-to-paper on a new four-year deal.

The defensive midfielder, who scooped both Player of the Year awards at the club's annual dinner, this morning signed a contract keeping him at Villa Park until June 2013.

The Bulgarian international has enjoyed a sensational 2008-09 campaign - combining brilliantly with Gareth Barry in the central ground.

Excelling in his anchor role, Petrov has turned out in 35 league games this season, scoring the one goal against Stoke City at Villa Park. He has also played in seven UEFA Cup clashes, three FA Cup games and one League Cup match.

He wasn't able to produce his best form initially after his £6.5m 2006 move from Celtic but he is now definitely one of the first names on Martin O'Neill's team sheet.

After winning the Reserve League South, we defeated the winners of the Reserve League North, Sunderland, 3-1 tonight. Well done to the young Lions! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

We savaged Stoke 4-1 and Ronaldo was beaten to the top scorer race by Anelka.

Such a shame to miss Paolo's last home game, but seeing us send Newcastle down is a nice little consolation! Was a fantastic atmosphere, Newcastle were the first to start celebrating after the fans had heard the news that Hull were 1-0 down to United, but were quickly shut up when Barrys shot deflected off Duff into the bottom corner. Edgar got sent off in the dying seconds when he fouled Young, then party time when the whistle went - no more Newcastle. Only this club could go down in a way so funny.. by an OG from their own player. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Had a look on one of their forums to see what they thought, one of their many deluded fans said "Us going down is the same as if Liverpool were to go down".. get over yourselves, small time club, small time trophy cabinet, back where you belong.

I can't help but laugh, the only thing the Premier League will lack by them not being in it is the calamitous centre-backs they seem to buy every single summer. Boumsong, Coloccini, Bramble to name but a few. I wouldn't even say they are guaranteed to come straight back up, I mean look what happened to Leeds/Leicester/Southampton, all big clubs that came out of the Premiership and struggled.

Newcastle should be okay then. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It's great that they're gone, and most people seem to think so. On the Villa forum I use, we've had Sunderland, Everton, Fulham, United, Chelsea, fans from tonnes of clubs give their support to us before the game! What makes it better is that Hull lost, meaning relegation was down to them being so ****, and God were they ****, they had about 1 shot in the 2nd half!

Burnley vs Sheffield United in the play-off final today. I'd like to see Sheff U get promotedafter the whole Tevez thing, but I think Burnley will win, everytime I've seen them this season they've looked great.

Burnley 1-0, great goal.

Well done to Burnley, one of the founder members of the football league, Premier League to them.
