Well, we don't wanna spoil him...it's important to learn handle criticism in an early age.

He's also praised him a lot recently. I could even say the criticism has acted as an impetus for Pato. So then it was the right thing to do. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

QUOTE (Zed.D @ Jan 6 2009, 11:43 AM) To criticize such a young player when he isn't doing badly by any means isn't the right thing to do. Well, he's doing good so that must mean he's also under good treatment. Or do you wanna say Pato is turning good despite of Ancelotti?

Isn't the prevailing argument that the manager shouldn't be the player's friend??

So if you mean that Carlo is not Pato's friend and for that reason the Brazilian is doing well then that means you accept Carlo is making a mistake in having a close relationship with those players that constantly underperform.

Oh c'mmon who cares really what Carlo said about him weeks or months ago, Pato's doing good and that's what matter. You know, people are still people, it's not like every move, comment, slip-up or mistake sets his career.

Maybe I'm being pig headed, but the fact is Pato has certainly improved. He came out himself and said, the coach had a point.
I still believe what I said some months ago about different strokes for different folks. Some people need a tough talking to, while some people don't function when it happens.
And the same Carlo did come out after the Udinese match and say this was potentially the best striker in the world, since he has everything speed, shot power etc.
Was he doing badly? Maybe not. But then again we don't know how good he is. Perhaps what is really good for Paloschi's standards might be just average for Pato.
I think Carlo's being held to blame for just about everything that happens here. Even when something good happens, it's about how Carlo almost screwed up, and it was a flight of angels that rescued us.
