Real Madrid cool their interest in Young as Villa demand £30m for England star

Real Madrid have conceded defeat in their bid to sign Aston Villa star Ashley Young - for now.

Sources in Spain say the Spanish champions will not make a move in the January transfer window after being told he would cost £30million.

Juande Ramos made Young his No1 transfer target after taking over at the Bernabeu, but Real will wait until the end of the season to make their move after already shelling out about £20m to take midfielder Lassana Diarra from Portsmouth and a similar figure to sign striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Ajax.

Real president Ramon Calderon, sporting director Predrag Mijatovic and coach Ramos will discussed their strategy for signing the 23-year-old over the last few days.

My heart can not take anymore of this. We take the lead in the 88th minute, then in the last second of injury time, the ref awards Hull a penalty.. only for the linesman to over-rule him and say it hit the cross bar and not our players hand!

Yet another poor performance away from home where we win. This is what good teams should be able to do.

Starting 2009 joint on points with 3rd place United and in the top 4.. fantastic! COME ON YOU LIONS!

Ah I thought so, yeah it's horrible.

SkySports is the only one I like really, at times the commentary is so bad on Setanta that it just gets muted!

Good news indeed. Though I'm not sure he'd go there to be honest, I don't think foreign leagues appeal so much to English players, less money, being away from home and the football is so very different.

If you spend that in one time of going to the pub to watch one game that you could see on Setanta, then I'd say yeah! Bearin in mind you will get like another 30+ games a month on even if you're not too interested in them.

Agbonlahor. He's the fatest player in the league, according to a thing Nike did. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Cool. I think will become a much important player in a few years though. For Villa and the NT.

By the way, I like it when right footed wingers play on the left... It's just cool. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Hopefully, he works hard which is always a plus. Lazy players never realise their potential.

It is good, causes nightmares for the defenders as well.
