We need an own thread for this..."Kurt and Kaka is brilliant vs the rest of the forum, with Giancarlo vs Porty as an extra feature.

Anyway, Arsenal stats thus far this season, played 4, won 3, lost 1 goals scored: 8, goals conceded: 1.
Our season is going well at the moment, and Man U losing to Liverpool was the icing on the cake.

Arsenal starting well is nothing new... it's a question of whether they can sustain it since they don't have the depth of Chelsea or Man Utd.

Um, it is. Arsenal have a history of starting their season like crap, in the 06-07 season we were out of the title race by the end of september.

Yeah, so many matches today. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) There's the inter vs Catania thingy too.

They started well last season. Maybe people have that in mind. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) It's another thing they just ruined everything by concentrating on the CL against Milan, which they had too. But it hit Arsenal in the league a tad more than expected.

And using clubs fits your argument... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Exactly. So neither arguement is 'right'.

At least that's not me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleepysmiley03.gif) While I don't buy the Barclay: The best damn league in the world analogy, but still I think the English league is right up there with the Germany, Italian and Spanish. The big four. Not necessarily my favorite one to watch because of the gameplay and style. Personal preference yes, but that's not to say the league is crap, because it isn't.

Plus, I'm the first one to admit the tons of $$$ floating around there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/96.gif) That's one measure of success.

Agreed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Anyways, Clash of the Cash is about to start, Chelsea go to Man City.

City: (4-4-1-1) 1 Hart; 5 Zabaleta, 2 Richards, 22 Dunne, 3 Ball; 8 Wright-Phillips, 21 Hamman, 33 Kompany, 7 Ireland; 10 Robinho; 14 Jo.
Subs: 16 Schmeichel, 11 Elano, 16 Garrido, 19 Fernandes, 24 Evans, 26 Ben Haim, 28 Sturridge.

Chelsea: (4-3-3) 1 Cech; 17 Bosingwa, 26 Terry, 6 Carvalho, 3 A.Cole; 20 Deco, 12 Mikel, 8 Lampard; 10 J.Cole, 15 Malouda, 39 Anelka.
Subs: 40 Hilario, 2 Ivanovic, 11 Drogba, 18 Bridge, 21 Kalou, 33 Alex, 35 Belletti.

You could argue that last season you should have won the league, but threw it away in February-ish kinda time.. so you have had good starts before, like last season I'm not sure you've got what it takes to go the distance. We'll see.

I think what hit us the most was Eduardo's injury and the Birmingham game. Everything went apart after that.

Jep. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I'd have given anything for someone else winning the league instead of Man U.

How do you work that out? I stated that there were more foreigners in the prem(which is correct (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ), and you tried to argue otherwise with a totally different argument. If you want to argue then argue about the same thing and don't twist things.

I also said that a team with plenty of English players was good enough to win the European Cup, while no team with many Italians was good enough to win the Italian league, forget Europe. So I'm also right, so.. You don't like the EPL anyways so it's quite a pointless excercise in arguing this, I'm not going to continue anymore.

Is he ever not hurt, this guy has terrible luck.

He's been more or less injured since the end of 2006...and I actually forgot about Van Persie.
He's been out with injury so often I stopped going "oh sh*t, not again" about a year ago. Now I'm more like "Oh well, it had to come."
It's a bloody shame our arguably most skilled players are the most injured.
