As regards media coverage, one source of my annoyance is with Fox Soccer (fox being owned by Sky). It's pretty much all EPL (though they do show, for example 4 Serie A games as well as Argentine league games). The newsreaders spend 60-70% of the news broadcasts talking about the EPL or Championship. The bits of news they get in about the rest of the world aren't particularly accurate (or are 3-4 days old and out of date and almost always negative regarding Italy or Serie A except for Jose Mourinho). So while the English media may not be shoving down the dominance (and I'm not sure that the EPL can be said to be dominating just yet) of the English league, the American media certainly is.

My preference is Serie A, then Germany, then Spain, then England. Maybe I'm just a freak. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

That's what creates the difference. How can you, Kurt and other English members of this place decide on what's biased when you're living in UK yourself? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I was watching a Top Gear episode in which they said the best three cars in the world were all British. And everyone agreed. That was just about the funnies thing I heard in my 23 years on this planet. One good season makes CR the best ever. We'll continue this discussion when he goes to Madrid next season. Then he'll be just another diving Portuguese cnut, and depending on how he fares, overrated or not. We'll see then.

I think there's a difference between football and cars. You can only bi biased towards something when you like it/are a fan of it, and the reverse for being biased against something. I HATE United, the same goes for Ronaldo, so to say we're biased TOWARDS a Portugese player.. I just don't see where the bias in that is. He's not even English, he Fd over England at the World Cup, there are very few people I dislike more than he.

Problem is people will read an article by one of our journo's saying Ronaldo is the best in the World and they'll label it hype for the player, making him over-rated, when it really isn't the case. I personally Don't see where the reputation our media has comes from. A few of our writers said England would win World Cup 2006, does that mean they're hyping us up? Of course not, that's like somebody saying England won't win World Cup 2006 means they're saying we're crap.. the World doesn't work that way.

The way football is, people often hate what is best. Currently the EPL is on top, and United are at the top of that, then Ronaldo is at the very peak of all of football right now, that's why he's so hated by everyone, in my opinion That and his attitude of course.

Good for Hull though because they need to bounce back in order to survive in the Premier League. Or they could end up like another Derby county.

British sites are rubbish though, that's just someone casting their opinion, I could say Torquay United are the best in the world, there we go that's English media... I just don't see how foreigners can lambast our own media when they don't live here. It's a bit arrogant in my mind it's like me saying American Media is rubbish, it might be, it probably isn't but then Tennie to come back and say no it isn't but then for me to say yeah it is. I mean someone living in the country to have an opinion or someone out of the country to think they know you're country better than you do...

Top Gear, I'm slightly impressed but if you got the irony of that show they are like that but they do it in jest half the time, I mean this is the show that can break £100,000 brand new cars. This is Jeremy Clarkson as well becoming somewhat of a legend for his eccentricity not his knowledge.

The only time I've mentioned biased is with Kaka, yes everyone on this board was saying hands down how he was the best which he was the season before last. Yet with Ronaldo oh he wouldn't do that in any other league I could easily say that about Kaka and to the ones who say about United, true but then Ronaldo did the same with Roma...

About Madrid, I won't think that at all I'm not arrogant enough to believe anyone who plays in a certain league is overrated. I don't even think Messi's overrated I just think Ronaldo had the better season and the stats back up my point.

In my opinion, from anything I've ever seen, Cristiano Ronaldo's 07/08 season is the best single season by any player, ever.

One can say he single-handidly won Manchester everything. But the best individual effort I've seen from one player in a season while playing with not-so-great teams was the original Ronaldo in the 90s.

^^ @ kaka's brilliant ronaldo's the best in the world we all know. problem is for those you dont agree witht hat, they dont really ahve any other options to pick from (messi, torres, and thats about it) but in the end it's more a campaign against ronaldo than a campaign for messi or torres. myself i hate united but i'm not ashamed to say he's currently the best, overrated or not no one comes to close to him right now.

Nobody has seen enough. It's impossible to have.

The thing is, people like to have it both ways. To play down Ronaldo they'll say he played in a great team. But apparently Rooney, Ferdinand, Carrick and Hargreaves are all over-rated, Fletcher, Brown and O'Shea are crap. So where's all these great team mates he has?

In my opinion United did so well because they have 10 players who were decent enough and worked hard as a team, then they had Ronaldo to win games for them.

But it's still my opinion that this was the greatest season by a player that I've ever seen. I don't think there are many players who won the league and the European Cup together while finishing top scorer in their own league and in Europe.
