Guys i think all of us doubters owe R7 and Tennie and others who remained positive an apology.

Coming from me, thanks for keeping faith in the team as it helped me to keep faith and i remained patient and was rewarded and learned an important life lesson from this summer. Its better not to judge until 31 and its still not the 31 but to me i have renewed faith in galliani and the management. To R7 and tennie and others Thanks for always remaining positive no matter how doubtful this forum gets, milanfan really needs more guys/gals like you here.

Some folks prefer to wait until the season is actually underway before judging the quality of our transfers. Having the fastest car in the garage doesn't amount to a hill of beans if you can't win any races.

Quite right. We obviously can't compare this one to when Nesta came to us. Or even Rui. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I think what I meant was that this one was the only worthy transfer season after those two came to us. The stuff inbetween was mishmash. Some good signings, Ronaldo, Pato. Others not so good. I think I didn't explain it well enough, maybe. After Nesta, means not necessarily better than that transfer, but one worth noticing.

Still Fester spent, what over 30-40 million Euros (some deals are still kept in dark), but overall I'd say a job well done. Which for a guy like Galliani, coming from me, means 'We love you bald man'. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Don't take that personal, anybody. Galliani will always be Galliani. So we shouldn't get too comfortable with him. But getting players like Zamborghini, R80, Flamini, Sheva, and then calling the right cards with Brocchi etc. deserves a bit of a praise.

I was looking around another Milan forum, and an Italian poster that watches pretty much all the Calcio show on Italian TV said that an expert that was talking said that Milan actually made about €10m profit this transfer window. I don't know how that happened but if he's right, hats of to Galliani

Thats what i think too. If the new players dont perform consistently or cant handle the pressure or whatever then will we have made the right decisions?

Its best to judge the new signings by December - January time

Some reports from Italy suggest Palermo is interested in Borriello. But only pure speculations.

Yes. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) The simple reason is we can never be sure about these things. Even if we spend 300 million and got guys like Drogba, Benzama, Gomez, Essien, Casillas, Alves, and who not, they can flop big time too, if things don't work out. The thing is, having these players is better than not having them. Could we have done better? Yes, there is always room for improvement. But we could have done far worse, which we didn't.

But I rejoice in knowing that we made our moves in the transfer season to make our year a success. Even if it doesn't pan out right, we'll at least know that we tried. With these things, there is never a guarantee. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) One can sign an unknown, and he may turn out great, we may sign the best striker in the world and he may be injured for more than half the season. Erm, Ronaldo. Besides, there will be a whole year to ponder over how things are turning out.

So pessimists, optimists, and realists, rejoice! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleepysmiley03.gif) For there is still one day to the start! The start of something new! Something great!

i'm surprised with that overall we made money, but i made a rough calculation right before we bought R10 of all our transfers and we were in the green by around 20-25 m.

thing i dont know if they're also counting wages because if they do then i'm sure we dint make 10m, if not then it's possible.

Galliani has always been good managing the club from an economical perspective, it's just when the experts (leonardo, carlo, senior squad members) dont push hard for who they want then we've ended up with funky transfers, and his player evaluation is suspect, and of course the comments. but yes overall i think this time around he deserves credit for a job well done, and he followed through in bring those 7-8 new players.

I think eerybody should be looking forward to the season. Even if I don't like some of the new signings or I feel they were bad value for money, we made mistakes, etc. At least we've done something. I think we will definitly make the top 4 next season, no question, and we can look forward to watching Milan in the league instead of us fielding our reserves in order to rest them for the CL. Hopefully a good start against Bologna, and if we can get our players to play to their potential, we could be awesome.

I don't think wages are being counted but in terms of money spent on just the transfer fees I think we've dont exceptionally well.

But if there really was a profit made overall, I can't understand why we couldn't just spend some money on another CB and a GK. Clubs like Fiorentina went in the red by something close to €50m same goes for Inter. But anyway, moving on, hopefully these issues get taken care of next summer because I think before we get a top quality CB and a top quality keeper we simply cannot win the league
