So the last placed finisher in the EPL, earns less than the relegated club?? Coz if I'm not wrong the relegated club earns huge amounts in parachute payments right?

Yes they do. It's all very confusing. Clubs relegated from the EPL are given around £6m - which has now raised to £11m I think - in their first two seaons in the lower division. This is to help them cope with the less of the tv money and to help them try and cope with some big wages they may be still carrying from their time in the EPL.

Lampard is a very good player. Though overrated like all the others in the EPL.

I think it's a shame he never played for a top club.

Depends how you define top club I suppose. He has as many League titles here as Thierry Henry, Ruud van Nistelrooy & Cristiano Ronaldo. He's won more league title that Gerrard, Carragher, Torres, etc. will win at Liverpool, that's for sure.

Top club or big club is an entity with history, titles, huge fan-base, etc.

Chelsea isn't on the same side as Real Madrid, Milan, Juventus, Man Utd, Liverpool, Inter, Bayern, Barcelona, etc. They might be a top team (a squad with top players), but not a top club. Maybe in 20 years if they continue like this.

Pompey 0-1 United. Fletcher. So far he has scored both of Uniteds goals this season, where would they be without him! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Fletcher? It was that Pompy defender who put the ball in the net, all Fletcher did was fall over.

It's been credited to Fletcher. He got the touch that pull the ball in, the only debate is whether it was over the line or not when the defender tried to clear it. In any case I think it should be given to him, since it's not like it was the defenders fault it went in, it was on the line and going towards the goal anyway.

Portsmouth have scored 1 goal in their last 7 EPL games and they have lost their last 6 straight. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Yep out for a couple of more months I've heard, hence the reason United aren't doing that amazingly yet.
