Actions speak differently than words. I think it was all about money but I'm generally considered a pessimist with regards to people. It's not a ridiculous accusation at all considering Chelski is a mercenary team.

Well, it is a ridiculous accusation to say "Ashley Cole moved to Chelsea for money.. even though he took a pay cut!" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I'm not talking about Cole in this regard. I don't know the specifics of that case.

Yo ACID i just wanna clarify something..I'm a dude bruh...Ma full name's Galando Kenny...Had 2 short d name...But tis all good..Tis ma bad if it sounded like Gal (oh sh***...it did..tis ma bad though)..

It did. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) Anyway, point noted. Sorry about the misunderstanding. I've been called a gal quite a few times myself, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. That's the thing with user names, I guess.

The problem with that analogy is many people know of Beckham doesn't mean he's any good though, although I do get what you are saying about the World Cup's.

Very valid point. Fame isn't the only criteria of success. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) But then again Beckham used to be good. For a brief period, probably the best of his generation. Other than that agree with your post.

I used to love that Andriy character. But he did some bad moves and he sold himself out in my eyes. But I do welcome him back. In a different manner. Now he's just a goalscoring machine, with no credit, no bonus, no admiration. He just has to do his job - score and make us better. Anything other then that is...not interesting for me. It's just a raw deal.

So this debate is still going on. There still seems to be a variety of opinion on the matter.

I don't think Shevchenko left for money. I think he left because his wife wanted to be famous and glamorous in London. The 'kids learning English' argument doesn't hold water for me because, well, there are a number of English-language schools in Milan because of the sizeable expat (UK/Oz/US/Canada) contingent in the city.

I am going to disagree with interpretations that paint Shevchenko as being completely honest with the fans about his departure. He might well have been honest with management/Berlusconi, but the Gazzetta articles I recall reading at the time have him swearing loyalty and then all of a sudden doing a reverse face. I'm not sure if the 'traitor' label is entirely accurate but I think it's close. (The curva seems to think so too, for what it's worth. So too does Ancelotti, or he did when he did that Iene interview).

Dry-cleaning polar bears, maybe? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) You weren't alone in thinking this, though.

That's the reason. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) The exact reason. His wife.

Well, I'll do what the team does. If Maldini, Nesta, Gattuso, Ambrosini and the rest can embrace him back, who am I to say different?

Agree , he played with us and even he thought he was playing with Berlusconi and Galliani , also he thought that he will leave a village and some low level people for what he thought is an utopia , but he didnt find anything new and also he failed on his job , he understood and became a little more mature for responsibility of his actions . this hard experience would be enough for him even if he didnt return here !

or maybe we could see them play side-by-side.

Thay'd make a great pair. but Carlo will never field Kaka and Sheva and Ronaldinho and Pato all together. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) that'd be too offensive for our defensive minded coach.

Sad but true, too offensive for a cowardice coach.
But only last year I was dreaming of this line-up, and in the next few days it might turn into reality.

Shevchenko
Pato
Ronaldinho
Kaka'
Seedorf
Pirlo
Flamini
Jankulovski
Maldini/Kaladze
Nesta
Zambrotta
Abbiatti

I mean, is this fantasy football or something?
