And the players are always grateful... (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Don't forget that. Sergio is out scouting for us. So is Desailly. Cafu too...soon. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I mean in 10 years, all they have to do is give us one more Kaka/Pato.

QUOTE (Giancarlo @ Aug 20 2008, 12:03 AM) Tell me about it. Alex Silva... no offense to him... I mean he's good, but by no means world class. Thiago Silva is just on another level. Thiago Silva only played the game against China. He's simply a better defender. He was benched for the rest of the games.
Dunga really doesn't know what he's doing. Why do they still have this clown? Sobis over Pato, Alex Silva over Thiago Silva... it just doesn't make any sense. Not only that, Brazil didn't even have any shape, everyone was all over the place and they tried to do the same things over and over again. Dunga relied on one of his big players to pull something out of their @sses in every game

QUOTE (Giancarlo @ Aug 20 2008, 07:25 AM) The thing about Ronaldinho is he works well with an well organized team like Milan. Brazil... was a disorganized nightmare. Many of these players have had little training with each other. Not only that Brazil did not appear to gel too well.
As far as us keeping players longer than we should, well this transfer season is evidence that we need new players. The only good thing about Brazil was that I saw Ronaldinho and Pato link up well with eachother a couple of times. Which for me was the only good thing I saw in sending them with their NT, getting Ronaldinho to play some competitive games after being inactive for so long and he and Pato having time to play together. As for Milan and keeping players longer then they should, this summer the management has done a pretty good job in that respect, Sergio, Cafu, Simic, Storari. But we still have a long way to go, Brocchi, Dida, Emerson (to some extent), Favalli... All should be sent on their way and replaced with younger quality players.

I didn't really care for the result in the end. I wanted to see Ronaldinho get some practice and use it as a training tournament sort of thing. I think he did. It's obvious when Sobis was there instead of Pato, Brazil suffered. I just wished Dunga started with Thiago Silva, Pato + Ronaldinho... it's just obvious. Yes I understand, but cleaning up house can take longer than we want. For what they did... it's respectable and quite good. Dida will be sent once his contract is over. Brocchi... I hope we trade him for Stendardo... frankly if we do, that means no more Brocchi in midfield... Stendardo, btw, is tough and is like 6'2" and 195 pounds... he's like someone I'd not want to knock into it. He's not fragile... he would add some muscle to our backline. Emerson... I'm willing to give one more chance. Favalli... will probably retire soon.

Sheva?? back??? Why Andriy...why?? Don't you have a spine on you!! You tell that no good Brazillian wannabe coach, just what the erstwhile crown prince of Milan can do....(IMG: style_emoticons/default/realmad.gif) *End of over reaction* Pato-Sheva-R80-Kaka-Seedorf-Pirlo: Something very scary about that lineup...but it's just not right.. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Why in the world would we want Favalli to be sold? He's done great every time he's been called up. I don't see the point of making a big fuss about someone who is essentially a third choice utility player. He's an excellent player for the position he occupies in the team. A former captain, and if what the players say are true, an excellent influence in the team. Besides I read someone say, he's as smart as Einstein...let's keep the Milan players coaching tradition alive. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Brocchi..fine...we're being very nice to him, but there's no denying that he's not one of our irreplaceables. Emerson, has never really got the chance to play. We can't unload him, just yet. Esp coz when he played he did decently well.

Dunga relied on one of his big players to pull something out of their @sses in every game The bolded part sounds a lot like what Carletto's been accused of.... (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I guess there is a way of doing the exact same thing to get opposite results. So I would think it looks like Thiago Silva and Sheva coming in for us. Can't say I'm too unhappy...except maybe at Sheva for being such a quitter. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Though in his defence maybe Scolari just doesn't want him, and is not even gonna give him a chance. That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sheva and Scolari and Galliani come out with a denial. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) With Sheva, the good thing is Pato (who Carletto said was similar to Sheva) could learn something. Also it would take the pressure of having to lead the front line single handedly (since Pippo is fragile). Since we're loaning Sheva, I'd like us to loan Crespo as well. Though with Ibra's and Adriano's injury, Mou might not let him leave. If Sheva comes, he absolutely has no choice but to finish in the top 4 scorers of the league. Otherwise he's going to be considered finished. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Not to mention, if he can finish on the top scorers list, it might help him prove a point to Mourinho. But imo, while this sounds harsh, I think the great Shevchenko is now desperately clutching at straws to help from sinking into mainstream footballing oblivion. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) *sigh* Cruel cruel fate.

^^ Translation of above
[Shevchenko returns to Milan. After the Ferragosto meeting in Sardinia with Berlusconi, Abramovich gave him permission to go. He'll come on a free loan (presumably meaning Milan pays his wages) with right to purchase. The Ukrainian striker will play with his naitonal team and tomorrow will be in Italy. He'll take Paloschi's place - Paloschi is halfway between Bari and Torini. The Rossoneri, still looking for a defender, wouldn't therefore be able to take another non-EU player.]

Few things not making sense in the translated article. 1. I read on channel 4 or somewhere that Chelsea would pay a large part of his wages. 2. Sheva still takes up only 1 EU spot. We should have one more free right? Or was one of the Uru-guys lying about being Italian? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) 3. I also read that Milan would agree to have Ivanovic for the time being on a 'loan-only' basis, and the reason they agreed was coz Sheva was also included as a loan option. Any further updates on this?
