Improved thanks to his amazing confidence. Gonna have a great season.
Hutton (Tottenham) “Gosto da atitude positiva da escola escocesa.Este lateral é batalhador.”
I like the attitude of the scotish. This full-back is a 'fighter'.
Bale (Tottenham) “Na esquerda, o melhor é Ashley Cole mas Bale marca livres, cantos e... golos”
On the left, the best is Ashley Cole but Bale takes freekicks, corners... and scores.
One of the best in the world. Even Terry improved playing with him.
Two qualities: he gets pissed off when he loses and is versatile (can play in many places). What a partnership he made with R.Carvalho.
France knows what he has and can replace Makelele and Vieira.
Who doesn't want him? He's world-class and just misses the EPL title.
He has to be in this team. He's one of my favourite "sons" in football.
Pedersen (Blackburn) “Se Ronaldo não dá [caríssimo]... Marca 6 golos de bola parada/época.”
If Ronaldo is too expensive [to put in the team]... he scores 6 goals in set-pieces/season.
Torres (Liverpool) “É simplesmente um ‘matador’. Nesta equipa, é o meu Super-Homem.”
Simply a "killer". In this team, he's my super-man.
Defoe (Portsmouth) “Tal como Torres, espero 20 golos dele nesta época. Se for titular, marca. É sempre assim.”
Just like Torres, I expect 20 goals this season. If he's in the first XI, he scores. It's always like that.

QUOTE (Giancarlo @ Aug 16 2008, 04:09 AM) I hear they didn't tie up the defense as they wanted. You see they only thought about getting attacking players. If their attack breaks down I won't be surprised if you see more 8-1 results like last season. Corluka - Richards - Dunne - Ball -- That's their first choice defense from last season. Corluka - Richards - Ben Haim - Ball -- The defense that will play Villa. And the only reason Ben Haim is starting is because Dunne is suspended. Isaakson was in goal for the 8-1 defeat, not Joe Hart. They also had Dunne sent off after 5 minutes, and Richards out with an injury. So the team that last 8-1 is very different to this one. Vassell is a loss to them, not because he's any good. But since he left Villa for City, he has scored 4 in 4 past us. Man City are solid at the back with good offensive players lik Petrov, Elano and Ireland. I wouldn't be surprised if the steal a win. We haven't beaten them at home since 2002 anyway, a bit of a bogey team for us.

They had more than just one bad game, and they basically slumped towards the end of the season. I think they bought too many different players to gel... but we shall see...

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Aug 16 2008, 03:46 PM) FT Arsenal 1-0 Albion.
3 points and a clean sheet for Arsenal. But being dominated by a Championship quality team at home is quite worrying. They've no-one in midfield to win the ball back, Adebayor is showing why I don't consider him World class, had about 7 chances today! Gallas defends like an ametuer and throws a little hissy fit whenever something doesn't go his way. Albion won the ball back from the Arsenal midfield too easy, I worry for Arsenal when they come up against the likes of Scholes and Carrick. Excuse me? Dominated? Kurt, we had about 65% possesion and nearly double the attempts. Besides, we have 7 players injured and the first day of the season isn't the day when you should impress the most, you should just focus on taking 3 points. Adebayor was partly unlucky and partly very clumsy today, but hell he creates chances out of nothing. Nasri impressed me to the core, this being his PL debut and all. Oh, and Eboue needs to go. He had three shots on goal today from about 20 metres out, and all curled AWAY from the goal. All of them.
