It seems Man City, despite last nights embarassment, have got a pretty much full strength squad for the Villa game. Corluka & Irelands transfers didn't go through and most of their players are back from injury. Only Vassell and Benjani are injured. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

They had more than just one bad game, and they basically slumped towards the end of the season. I think they bought too many different players to gel... but we shall see... |

John Carew has signed a 1-year extension to his contract, making him a Villan until 2011. Gabby Agbonlahor followed suit by signing a new 4-year deal, keeping home at Villa until 2012. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Alright EPL has begun with Arsenal vs WBA. And Samir Nasri has scored the first goal of the EPL season 08/09 in the usual Arsenal manner ie finishing off a wonderful Arsenal move.

FT Arsenal 1-0 Albion.
3 points and a clean sheet for Arsenal. But being dominated by a Championship quality team at home is quite worrying. They've no-one in midfield to win the ball back, Adebayor is showing why I don't consider him World class, had about 7 chances today! Gallas defends like an ametuer and throws a little hissy fit whenever something doesn't go his way. Albion won the ball back from the Arsenal midfield too easy, I worry for Arsenal when they come up against the likes of Scholes and Carrick. |

Kurt, we had about 65% possesion and nearly double the attempts. Besides, we have 7 players injured and the first day of the season isn't the day when you should impress the most, you should just focus on taking 3 points. Adebayor was partly unlucky and partly very clumsy today, but hell he creates chances out of nothing. Nasri impressed me to the core, this being his PL debut and all. Oh, and Eboue needs to go. He had three shots on goal today from about 20 metres out, and all curled AWAY from the goal. All of them. |
