Galliani Mocks Inter: We Have Italians
The Nerazzurri have been much criticised for their lack of Italian players, and last season they had just one outfield player in their first team squad, Marco Materazzi, although Primavera star Mario Balotelli was also promoted towards the end of the campaign.

Milan meanwhile had a very Italian core to their line-up, and they have further signalled their intent ahead of next season by already signing Gianluca Zambrotta, Marco Borriello and Mathieu Flamini, the latter who has an Italian father.

"Flamini has an Italian passport, now we have also signed Zambrotta while we must also not forget the many Italians already on our roster,” sniggered Galliani.

“With Darmian and Paloschi, we have 16 Italians out of 25 players.”

The question of foreigners has been a hot topic around Europe recently, with FIFA President Sepp Blatter attempting to implement a 6+5 rule, which would impose on clubs a quota of six home-grown players and a maximum of five foreigners.

Galliani: Drogba Talks Have Begun

The Blues hit-man has been looking to leave the club since the departure of former coach and great mentor Jose Mourinho early on in the season.

Having been linked with all of European football's major heavyweights, many suspected the Cote d'Ivoire star's new club would be the same as Jose's, but with the Portuguese now bound for Internazionale, the favourites to sign Drogba are their city rivals Milan.

Milan have not been afraid of emphasising their need for a striker or two this summer, with Amauri - now officially of Juventus - being linked, along with the less likely Luca Toni, former club legend Andriy Shevchenko (who is now also of Chelsea, much against his own will it would seem), as well as Samuel Eto'o, Emmanuel Adebayor, Mario Gomez, Karim Benzema and of course Drogba, among others.

It seems as if the former Marseille man is their number one target, with Galliani revealing today that negotiations have now begun.

"[Milan coach] Carlo Ancelotti wants Drogba. He does," revealed Galliani. "I do not see anything wrong in a transfer, talks have already begun."

Lippi:  I will never coach milan
Lippi has been on a two year sabbatical since winning the World Cup with Italy in the summer of 2006.

The 60-year-old has stated on numerous occasions that he would be returning to the bench in time for next season, and he has been strongly linked with taking over at Milan.

However Lippi has made it perfectly clear that he could never boss the Rossoneri as he believes it would be a betrayal due to his links with old club Juventus, who he enjoyed stunning success with during two spells.

"The national team and Juventus were the two big love stories in my life as a coach,” Lippi told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“They are the only two Italian benches where I could go back to work.

“Milan are a club who have made the history of Italian football and Berlusconi and Galliani are great leaders. But I could not betray my two great loves.”

Lippi has also been linked with a sensational return to the Italy bench after Euro 2008, but he says this is an unlikely occurrence at this stage.

“With regards to Italian football, for the moment, the door is closed,"  he concluded.
