QUOTE (Tennie @ May 19 2008, 05:10 AM) I don't think Flamini was signed as a direct replacement, Devillito. My impression is that he was signed to provide depth to the midfield -- something Milan need badly. exactly! brocchi just isnt cuttin it (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Hrm. Well, now the Italian press is hinting that it's a matter of time before Milan hold a news conference to announce Gattuso's departure. (wouldn't be surprised if this changes in an hour or two, opinion's all over the place).

Really should have looked at getting vargas..
Seems fiorentina and real are fighting it out for his services.
Was impressive against us, can actually put a good ball in. Think he defended pretty solidly too. Not sure how he's been all season though, but was certainly potential there.

RINO IS STAYING.
Press conference apparently still going on but there's this snippet on acmilan.com's italian page: RINO GATTUSO: 'Chiuderò la mia carriera al Milan'
[I will end my career in Milan. ]

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ May 19 2008, 04:39 PM) I would like to bring in another DM, or preferably a box-to-box player, if Rino was to leave. Somebody that could offer more than just thumping his chest and winning the ball back. A team like Milan needs players that can do things while in posession, as they have alot of it, and maybe even chip in with a few goals. gazzettaacmilan.comcontrocampoThey seem pretty convinced and controcampo in particular has some good quotes (I'll translate later, work's killing me at the moment). Seems genuine to me.

Moggi Gives Big Four Transfer Advice
Former disgraced Juventus transfer guru, Luciano Moggi, has revealed who he thinks the big four Serie A teams should invest in during the summer's transfer market.
Moggi, who was at the centre of the 2006 Calciopoli scandal, became famous for his scouting talents and tansfer deals at the Bianconeri. His biggest success was masterminding Zinedine Zidane's move from Bordeaux to Juventus in 1996. He was also responsible for luring players like Christian Vieri, Pavel Nedved and Gianluigi Buffon to Turin.
Although he recieved a five year ban from the game for his part in the 2006 scandal, he is still making a noise behind the scenes and he has shared his opinions on who the big boys in Serie A should buy.
"It's hard for Inter to strengthen their squad because they already have many superstars," Moggi told Il Sussidiario.
"They will only buy big if they let someone big leave but if they don't invest, they still have the capabilities of winning another title.
"Milan on the other hand need a goalkeeper, they can't get Buffon but they should go for Frey as an alternative.
"The Rossoneri also need a striker, someone like Luca Toni or Amauri perhaps maybe even Ibrahimovic. But they should go for Amauri as the other two maybe impossible targets.
"Juventus need to strengthen their midfield, they need to look at some of their older players and they have to strengthen their bench as well as the first XI.
"They have the Champions League next season and thus like the old times, they would need to reinforce accordingly.
"As for Roma, I would suggest they also try for Amauri because he would do well there. But given their circumstances with take overs, they may not be able to afford him."
All four clubs need to strengthen given their objectives next season. Milan have already stated that they will focus on Serie A while the other three all have their eyes set on Champions League glory. Amauri is set to join Juventus but Milan may have the chance to pounce if the Old Lady fails to land her man.

I believe in Moggi even with those events !
