Couple of things.

Firstly, on telly nobody expected Juve to win on Saturday. The argument was over how big the margin of the Merda victory would be. So after the loss, the papers have been full of 'Inter in Crisis' stories. They even had a 'Scudettopoly' board image one day in Gazzetta -- the rest of the season for Roma and Inter done up like a Monopoly board. The current sense is that the momentum is with Roma.

The 'Mourinho Meets with Moratti' story ran in today's Gazzetta - which quoted it as a story from the English press - on the same page as an interview with Moratti in which Moratti discusses many things having to do with Inter, including only a little comment toward the end that Mancini's job is safe and that there were similar (Mourinho-related) stories last year and that he, Moratti, doesn't have meetings or revolutions to make at the club. Because he doesn't want to. ['Non ho incontri ne rivoluzioni da fare. Proprio non ne ho voglia']

Well, he is pretty fast, his movement is excellent, good passing, strong shot, tackes free kick's...so, he is ambivalent. Can play behind the striker(s) as well.

A few years ago I didn't really like him, but seeing him play now..he really is good.

Drogba Tells Team-Mates He’s Signing For Inter

Chelsea hitman Didier Drogba has told club team-mates that he will be signing for Inter in the summer, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

Drogba is certain to quit Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, as he wants a new challenge abroad, and the only question mark up until now is where he will end up. 

Only four teams have a realistic chance of luring the Ivorian; Milan, Inter, Real Madrid and Barcelona. 

According to the Corriere, as well as a number of other sources in Italy, Drogba has told his Chelsea team-mates that he will in fact be signing for Inter.

The 30-year-old has agreed to the move as he wants to link up once again with Jose Mourinho, who is looking highly likely to replace Roberto Mancini as coach in the summer.

A transfer fee of €23m will be enough to take Drogba from West London to San Siro, where the ex-Marseille man will form a terrifying-looking forward partnership with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

I agree with Fillipo on him. The fact he's playing for Dortmund and still scoring is the best argument for him. Besides that I really like that guy...he has something special. He never misses a trick and is really creative up front (not talking about creativity concerning his passing but about his numerous ideas to score). So...he's a really good striker.

Mellberg's mind is on Juve

Aston Villa defender Olof Mellberg is hoping to leave the club on a high, but he can’t wait to start his new adventure at Juventus.

The Swedish international’s contract at Villa Park expires this summer and he has agreed a pre-contract with the Old Lady.

“I thought that it was the right time to leave,” Mellberg stressed. “You never know about these things, but it felt right.

“Juve came along and they’ve been interested in me for quite some time and they’ve followed me with the national team and with Villa.

“They have a great Coach and they are also one of the biggest clubs in the world, so it was an opportunity that it was right to take.

“I watch the Bianconeri all the time now and I watch all their games on TV. They are doing well at the moment. It’s important that they qualify for the Champions League and they are up there challenging.”

After seven years in Birmingham, the 30-year-old wants to leave as many happy memories as possible.

“It would be nice to finish on a high and qualify for Europe so that the club can take another step forward next season,” Mellberg explained.

“It will be hard to leave. I’ve had a great time – my best footballing years – and I have made many friends. I feel a lot for the club and for the fans and people within the organisation. I have had a great time.

“There’s quite a gap now to fifth spot, but we’re still challenging for the Intertoto with Manchester City and Portsmouth, so we could still get into Europe,” he concluded.

I don't like this guy. He talks too often about Juventus. He is a Villa player until the summer and he should focus on that!

It's clear his mind is on Juve, his performances show it. Before January, he was class, one of the best right backs in the league. From January onwards he's been useless, giving away stupid passes, getting sent off.. None the less, he's been great for us over the last 7 years, hopefully he leaves on a high and best of luck to him at Juve.

Fiorentina boss Cesare Prandelli insists that he won’t be lured away from the Stadio Franchi, as he wants to be “the Viola’s Sir Alex Ferguson.”

Prandelli is arguably Italy’s most respected tactician after building a top-five side from scratch in Tuscany.

In recent weeks, the former Parma man has been touted as a possible replacement for Roberto Mancini at Inter, but he seems to have no intention of quitting his current job.

“What do I think about becoming Fiorentina’s Ferguson? It really appeals to me,” Prandelli enthused in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I want to see continuity through the growth and management of youth and talent and the creation of a staff that expands and evolves.

“In Italy it is more difficult to do this than it is elsewhere, but Florence has great expectations and I would like to turn this into a winning city. I want to win here.”

Prandelli is under contract with Fiorentina until 2011, but some sources feel that, rather than Inter, he could be in the frame for the Azzurri job should Roberto Donadoni fail to deliver at Euro 2008.

I'd love to see him stay for a long time and create a legendary Fiorentina team!

Mourinho 'confirms' Inter meeting

Jose Mourinho’s spokesman confirmed the former Chelsea Coach met President Massimo Moratti this week. “Negotiations are advanced.”

The reports had come out of Portugal late last night that Mourinho had flown out to the peninsula, but today the official confirmation came through.

“It’s true, Mourinho and Mendes were in Milan,” spokesman Eladio Parames was quoted as saying.

“They left Lisbon yesterday and in the afternoon met the Inter President. Where? I cannot confirm that detail, but there was a meeting and I can assure you it was very positive.”

This is not the first time the former Porto and Chelsea boss has been linked with the Nerazzurri, but Roberto Mancini’s hastily retracted resignation and Champions League exit have made his situation untenable.

“This was the first time Moratti and Mourinho met face to face, but Jose and Mendes have had other meetings with Inter directors,” continued Parames.

“If the negotiations were not already at an advanced stage, then Mourinho would not have flown to Milan. You can be certain of that.

“How do I see it panning out? I don’t want to say anything, but my sensations are positive. If we see each other again in a few months I’ll have to try to improve on my Italian…”
