PARTICULAR SIGNS: PATO

3/13/2008 5:20:00 PM

Alexandre Pato was the guest at Milan Channel close to the Rossoneri fans: “At Milan I’m fine, it’s like a family and I feel at home. Ronaldo is the greatest" – PATO'S DECLARATIONS -

(IMG:http://media2.acmilan.com/200803/9765_news.jpg)

Alexandre Pato was the guest of Segni Particolari (Particular Signs). These are some of his declarations:

First thing, the Brazilian national team: “I’m Brazilian and for me playing with the shirt of my national team is very important. I’m happy for the call-up (friendly game of the 26th of March against Sweden, in program in London, at the Emirates Stadium) and I’m happy that Kaka will be there too.

“Cafu is always with me, he talks to me, he gives me suggestions and he's a reference point for the Brazilians who arrive at Milan. The Brazilian players of Milan are great examples for me, from Ronaldo to Emerson, from Dida to Cafu, from Kaka to Serginho: they have won a lot, with Milan and with the national team, and I admire them a lot.”

Pato has been praised straight away for his great performances during training, which were spontaneous: “I try to be calm on and off the pitch, and I try to do the best thing for me and the team.”

Many teams wanted Pato before he signed for Milan: “I did not have many doubts, I spoke with my dad, with the persons who are close to me, and I chose Milan because it is a great team, a serious club. Everyone told me that I would not find a better place, and then there are many Brazilians. For me, Milan is a family and a home. There are many people who give me serenity and tranquillity.”

Other declarations: “I still have a lot to improve, and each day I work for this. Also the Italian language! It’s getting better, but I study every day.

“The goals I like best from the ones I scored so far at Milan are those I scored against Napoli and Fiorentina.

“The best player ever? Ronaldo.”

They actually did a decent job of translating the article, too!

The impression I get about Pato is that he's a nice kid with a good head on his shoulders. I rather like him.

Adriano had personal problems we all know... and worst of all, Adriano was a Merda player! do I need to say more? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/graduated.gif)

When at his peak, he was easily one of the world's top 5 strikers... but I haven't seen him at 100% since the Confederations Cup in 2005.

I know full well how far Portugal got in the World Cup because of his antics, but that doesn't make him a bad player, it just makes him a pr!ck. In my opinion he's the best in the World at the moment, by some considerable distance.

Best in England. A few step overs don't make you the best. He's different away from home, like most EPL players. I'd much rather let him prove his mettle in Serie A, and then decide on whether he's the best in the world. That too by a considerable distance. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

He's a great, great player, agreed. No two words about it, kurt. But best in the world? Where does that put Ibra, Kaka, Messi, Buffon, Nesta and co? EPL is the league that has 4 teams in the the 1/4 finals of the CL...

myself i'm a huge serie a fan but i'm going to be so bias as to think it's better than the EPL right now, that would be downright arrogant.

ibra has 15 goals half of which are from the spot, but compare that with a winger that has what 25 goals?!?!? how can you even compare the two

kaka is having a brutal season by his standards and so hasnt performend well enough to be considered in the top ten right now 9thats right i could name 10 players that have played better than him this year)

if ur gonna talk about CR being all flash then how is it any diff with messi? thats the only thing the kid does with the ball. now i have no prb and he's one of the best in the world but when it comes down to is messi and ronaldo play similar positions and ronaldo has way more goals.

buffon is great but some would argue cassillas is the better now...

Messi is different. He doesnt use tricks to get past opponents. He uses his skills.
He doesnt dance around the ball like CR, the ball dances around him (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) .
