It could be his boots. but can he switch to Adidas when he's tied to Nike? I don't think Nike would like that idea!

Anyway, Nike sucks!

Cristiano Ronaldo wears the exact same model (Mercurial SL) as Pato and he didn't get any injury. Same for Robinho or Ibrahimovic.

(IMG:http://nikefutebol.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/pato_mercurial2.jpg)

Wayne Rooney no. He's nike but it's another model. It's the T90 Laser, same as Fernando Torres, Cannavaro and Gattuso.

(IMG:http://www.footy-boots.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/t90laser_atmanchesterevent031.jpg)

So I don't think the boot is any excuse. Robben wears adidas, as Messi, as Kaka' as Del Piero and check out their injury-list (on the first 2 and on the last 2).

he probably has a contract with Nike and has to obey it

but might change it in the future if he wants.

Pato faces Arsenal absence

Milan starlet Alexandre Pato could lose the race against time to recover from injury before the Diavolo's Champions League clash against Arsenal.

The Brazilian striker has been a revelation since arriving at San Siro from Internacional at the start of January.

Four goals in six games have made Pato the talk of the peninsula, but he was stretchered off with an ankle injury minutes after he scored the winning goal against Fiorentina last weekend.

Latest reports suggest that Pato could be out of action for around three weeks and will miss out on Milan's trip to London to face Arsenal on February 20  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) .

The Rossoneri medical staff are still conducting tests, but the 18-year-old is now almost certain to miss the Serie A games against Siena, Livorno and Parma.

Pato’s injury is particularly badly timed for Carlo Ancelotti as his side face three fixtures in seven days and there are doubts over Kaka’s fitness after a series of recent niggles.

Dr Meersseman (club's doctor) said on Milan Channel that he'll be 2-3 weeks out (more for 2 than 3).

You mean the article above? This is nothing but speculation... why don't we all wait another 15 or so hours for the official announcement?

Well...not exactly nothing. Just no official statement on when he's expected back.

The 'today's training' note has him in the gym with Rino and Janku doing individual work. (note that there wasn't regular training for the team as today is an official rest day)

Galliani has said - and it's been quoted all over the place - that Pato is expected back for the Arsenal games.

It's in the 'Oggi at Milanello' article on the ticker on acmilan.com's italian page.

Here's the full text:

OGGI A MILANELLO
05/02/2008
