He's just comparing him to Sheva I think. I actually agree with him. Pato will leave at some point - and not just because he's too old or wants to finish his career back home.

Pato Injury “Not Too Serious” Says Maldini

Pato Injury

Teenage wonderkid Pato came off the bench at the Stadio Franchi to score the only goal of the game in Milan’s 1-0 victory, however in the closing stages he badly turned his ankle as he challenged for a ball.

The Brazilian was stretchered off the pitch in serious distress, and there were initial fears that he may have sustained a very bad injury.

“At first I became worried about Pato’s condition,” admitted Maldini.

“He suffered a painful knock, perhaps a new feeling for him, but I don't think it's too serious because he hurt his ankle, not his knee. It's not as bad as what it seemed like on the pitch.”

Fourth Place

Maldini was delighted that Milan had picked up a crucial win as they hunt down Fiorentina in the final Champions League position.

"Finally we managed to do what we always need to do,” the legend stated.

“Unfortunately in the standings we are penalised by the fact we didn’t win much at home in the first round of matches, which is absolutely unlike Milan.

“Now we have to keep on going, our objectives must be large. Until twenty days ago the fourth place seemed like a utopia.”

Arsenal

Maldini also looked ahead to the Rossoneri’s mouth-watering Champions League tie with Arsenal in a fortnight’s time.

“Soon the Champions League will return, which will strain us both physically and mentally. Our intention is to be more consistent compared to the first part of the season,” the 39-year-old concluded.

I agree with Paolo. it looked like it was the first time Pato experienced such injury and pain in his career. perhaps he was scared and overacted a little bit?

Anyway, Paolo has lived with these things for as many years as Pato's age, even more! I hope it's like what he says...

Yes, it depends on the individual. But 9 out of 10 times, players get over these quickly... let's hope we're not so unlucky...

Recupero Pato:

Gazzetta saying that only tomorrow we'll know the injury but our medical staff is already preparing a thing to be prepared vs. Arsenal - that's the main goal for them. To rest him vs. Siena, Livorno and Parma but to be ready for London.

Will Carlo use him against Arsenal? I'd be surprised if he did to be honest...

If R99 will be back on top, than Pato will probably be benched against Arsenal (if he's recovered of course)

BTW, Rooney got the same injury at the same way as Pato at the start of this season at was out for a month.

Experts at that time blamed Nike shoes for it. Ironically, Pato wears Nike too (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

I think there have been a few injuries with players wearing Nike boots...perhaps Ricky could persuade Alex to wear real football boots - Adidas (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)
