Did you see his positioning in the first goal?? That was one of the big mistakes I'm always saying he's doing, it's just not obvious every time...

i dunno why people are rating nesta so low for this match. nesta and pirlo were the only players that showed up for this match. ibra did nothing all game with nesta there all that was there of ibra was the shadow of his big nose. all articles of the game that i have read considered nesta man of the match and i would have to agree

I agree, the only reason Ibra did nothing was because of Nesta and to a certain extent Kaladze

he had several half chances, and a player of his caliber can easily score with the half chances that he got it just dint work out for him . but ya i'd say kaladze and nesta did a good job at limiting him.

Actually, IMO there was not a single chance in which he could score. Eventually one, but that's it. Nesta closed him down with ease,..

Inter's guard of honour was very sporting. That is a very un-nerazzuri-like gesture

Wasn't Nesta playing as the right centre-back? And wasn't their goal scored from the area the right centre-back is meant to cover? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

I think people automatically rate Nesta very highly, just because he's Nesta, regardless of how bad he plays. He had a decent game, but the first goal was more his fault than anybodys as it came from the area he was in.

Nesta, Kaladze and Pirlo were the only players that were half decent, and even they made mistakes.

He only had one chance, that shot in the second half that went past Dida's right post. Well that could be considered a full chance as with that Dida protecting our net, every shot on goal would count... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

You just can't limit such a player to no chances... nobody can. And he was closed down every time clearly, without even conceding a foul. I heard from various sources that Kaka flopped but how can you perform when you're kicked all over the place? The guy won three yellow cards on his own again...

You are biased once more against Nesta... you're not usually like this but against Nesta you clearly are! I'm not saying this to insult you or anything, it's not like you're doing it deliberately (I do it with Pool player too...), but it's more than clear...

Nesta was all us Milan fans can take aways as positive from this game... and no the first goal was not his fault, he was out of the area to cover for someone else's mistake (can't remember who was out of position) and someone should have covered for him in consequence... I guess you know that football is not as simple as your logic: "The goal was scored from Nesta's area so he's responsible" is as daftly inculpable as "we need a goal, let's introduce some forwards to the game"...

I onl pick on Nesta when I feel I should, usually to take the criticism off other players.

Like in the case, Kaladze is being blamed for a goal and I don't really feel he was at fault, in my opinion, being out of position when a goal is scored is your own fault. If he went to cover somebody else mistake over keeping his position while Inter were threatening, that's a mistake for me. I have nothing against Nesta and at his best, he's the best CB in the World. He did have a a fairly good game, clearly one of Milans better players, but I just don't like some peoples fanboy approach on things. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

The only player I'm always critical of is Dida, but he's made 7 or so mistakes already this season and it's only just christmas, you shouldn't even have half of that throughout a whole season..

Anyways, Merry Christmas dst, at least for our timezones. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well I'm a fanboy! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) But I'm fair... I've never hesitated to say it when he was bad. I talked about Kaladze's positioning in Inter's first goal before but I did not mean it was his fault. In fact is was not one man's fault, everything that happened before it was dishearteningly poor... and Nesta was involved in the whole mess too.

i dunno how often you watch football matches but i watch games in all leagues quite frequently and have never seen a game where a goalie has no shots on net. there for not in all cases can a defender prevent a goal thats why there are goalies in soccer and if dida is a pylon and cant save a shot that is right at him i dont see how it is nestas fault. if he was standing in an open area of the field pickin his *** i would agree with u sayin he was outa position but if hes markin a man and the midfield isnt comming back and the other defenders arnt markin up players i cant see how u can put the blame solely on him. BTW the whole attack was comming from the right hand side so the whole defensive line was shifted over nesta was covering a man n the shot went between kaladze and ambrosini if you wanted to take another look at the replay of the goal. and i think it is quite obvous that even the best players make mistakes just cuz we see soccer players as gods doesnt make them any less human. I also think it is quite obvous when milan lose the whole or majority of the team plays poorly and this game was a prime example.

I bet there are very few people who watch more football than me, it's an obsession. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Obviously Dida's at fault for the first goal because he should have saved it, but the fact remains that Nesta was out of position for one reason or another, and in my opinion a CB shouldn't leave their position, they need to stay in front of goal. Otherwise, like you said, you end up with someone like Ambro having to cover for him, who isn't a defender.

I don't see football players as Gods at all, and I'm one of the more critical members of this forum. I won't defend a player just because of who he is or anything. I do agree with the majority of your post though!

(IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) hahaha thanks. i will admit there are players that i consider favourits but i am first to admit when they made a mistake and when i am wrong. but like you i am very critial i dont like how carlo usues the refs as excusses for example. oh we soulda got a pk mabe... so but u shoulda also been wining 3-0 befor the pk anyway...but the frustration of milans current fourm this season has taken its tole on me and i just want answeres. lol and i only view a select few players as gods and not many are playin now anyway.
