He just can't produce 20 goals cause he can't play a full season without any injuries... in my opinion we never replaced Sheva!

QUOTE But when Galliani said Sheva will be replaced with an equal; Ronaldo is that equal. that is what I am saying We haven't disagreed for a long time have we? But for me, it's Pato and not Ronaldo to take Sheva's place in the larger scheme of things. There are a lot of similarities, both from lesser known clubs, beating off competition, reputation more than money playing it's part in them coming to Milan. And of course, Silvio's insistence on both. Not to mention, they were both 17 when they came in right? And they are both gonna start in apprenticeship under two great forwards. I even half believe that this was one reason Ronaldo was brought in.

Nope not for a long time (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Well, u see, when Sheva left Milan .. He left a HUGE gap to fill. No player can step up and fill that void. When Ronaldo came, you could clearly see that our game was more fluid and more concrete, thus that void was filled. Sheva's equal doesn't mean that someone has to start his career the way Sheva did at Milan (no he was a bit older and a bit more experienced when he came to Milan..) ... They meant to keep the team moving the way it did by bringing in someone who can fill in his shoes. Someone with experience, a star, a protagonist, etc .. Pato getting the number 7 shirt means that he will be taking over the reigns from Shevchenko. That will be a HUGE obstacle for him to takle. Oliveira couldn't do it, let's hope our new wonder kid can (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) But to call him Sheva's equal, I mean, he has yet to prove himself. But yes, Ronaldo is supposed to keep tabs on him and take him under his wing, that is how it looks like (as Rui did to Kaka').

But yes, the situation was very near to the one we have now. Weah past his prime a bit but still was dangerous and Bierhoff, well he is a special one. So, Pato has the same conditions that Andrij had,.. But Ronaldo, when able to play, is the equal. He is the one that did not needed any time to read our playing style or to settle down. He just came and started o score. Sadly he got injuried, but he allready made about 100 comebacks, so,.. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

I even half believe that this was one reason Ronaldo was brought in. Sheva was 2 month before his 24 birthday, already took Dinamo kiev once to the 1/4 and another time to the 1/2 of the CL, had already over 20 goals in the CL (plus voted the best striker and was the best scorer in 98-99 season), and was the leader of his NT. Pato came when he's 17, so there's a difference. Whether he can be what Sheva was for us is remains to be seen. He would have plenty of chances to prove himself.

QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Oct 7 2007, 04:54 AM) To me, yes he was .. But when Galliani said Sheva will be replaced with an equal; Ronaldo is that equal. that is what I am saying It seems to me that you're trying as hard as you can to be incomprehensible... How can you say Ronaldo is Sheva's equal when at the same time you agree on that Sheva was, when at Milan, the best there was!???! And how can you claim we have found Sheva's equal when there's nothing you can back it up with!?? To be Sheva's equal you have to be equal at everything!! Goals, assists, passes, .... every little or big thing! Ronaldo has not even had one full season with us and you say he's Sheva's equal...
