QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Sep 30 2007, 03:29 PM) Well, we can't draw any conclusions about that han ... I mean, this team did well last season, despite all the difficulties. With that said, the management and the coach agreed to keep the same team, with minimal changes. Now, is that the best decision from our management? It is still early to conclude anything really .. It is easy for us to point fingers as we are the on lookers, if u know what I mean .. Actually these team didn't do well last season, apart from the league we were terrible in the league for the better part of the season. These problems should have been adressed last summer but they wheren't and we are paying the price now just as many expected. Carlo might tell the media that he sees the team as fine atm but we don't know what's going on behing closed doors. Fact of the matter is that Galliani is too cheap to make the neccisary changes in the team and after more then 5 years with practically the same team changes are more then needed. We can't cling to the past anymore when this is clearly holding the team back. And it is still early to come to conclusion but this is the time when the league is wonand lost and imo we have already practically lost this year's scudetto. Atm, Juve have a better chance of getting it then we do
As for the support thing, I'm still one that will support this team no matter what, but there are different ways of showing it, you can either curse everyone involved or criticise the team in a constructive fashion without resorting to bashing everyone from the president to the ball boys.
Bravo!! Exactly what I think,..I cannot belive how some of us react,...we should really be constructive. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)
Players like Cafu, Favalli, Kaladze, Serginho, Inzaghi, Simic and Brocchi all need to be shown the door by next season and should be replaced by younger, talented players who will actually show some passion for the shirt.
Poor Dario. I'm sure if he'd play one match on Kaladze's place, we would have done for at least 10% better.
Milan on't show anyone the exit door. But some of them will retire. The only thing I'm not gonna agree with you is that we need many young defenders. I'm not really a fan of young defenders,...

QUOTE (dst @ Sep 30 2007, 04:38 PM) Until then, I'd like to see Carlo adopt the Roma/Inter way... counter-attacks! We just can't beat these teams playing initiative football! Maybe we can do it another way... and please let Gourcuff play... it's not like he'll ruin our winning streak or anything! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Exactly. Know what? Inter had only 4 defenders at their disposal for the Roma game, as Materrazi, Chivu, Rivas are all out. And what did Mancini use? A trident attack! Look at the result. i know what Ancelotti would have done in that situation. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) QUOTE (bigmacmtl @ Sep 30 2007, 04:41 PM) carlo has been getting the tactics wrong all season long. look how effective we are. yet apparently he's supposed to be a master tactician and guys like spaletti and mancini have no chance.
oh btw mancini was the reason inter won yesterday with his tactics, yet he's supposed to be complete sht? You bet. Dumb Carlo would never have the nerve. Or the brain, to try something like that.

But I know, we can't cling on to the past, as Milan are protagonists and always look to future successes. Still, I would have hoped for a better start to the season than the one that we are having right now .. But I know for a fact that team will pick themselves up and go back to winning ways; there can't be a lower phase than the one that we are going through right now IMO. The Scudetto ? R u telling me you still believe in it? I mean I would understand if you didn't get it in the summer, but surely now you muct see it clearly. We are not in it for the Scudetto. Juve and Roma ... I hope one of them win the Scudetto this season (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) Next year, we will be on for the Scudetto.

Utterly disappointing. Only positive is the management might finally understand the situation.
I agree its time for Carlo to go, he's given the fans so much joy over his stint, but he's just coasting (rather than coaching) like the rest of the milan team at the moment. We have one youth prospect in our squad and he can't even get a damn game in a horrendous run of results. Kaka' is struggling due to much tighter and harder marking. Basically only scoring 1 goal in open play besides the penalty rebound from the Sevilla game.
We definitely have to undergo a rebuilding period, which could take some serious time since we've not slowly introduced new younger players into the team to occupy these spots. Besides that we don't have a bench, since the options to inject a change in the match situation are poor at best. Obviously there is yohan, but Carlo refuses to make that move at a stage in the game when he can be influential.
Then theres all the hopes that are resting on a 17 year old kid. Even if he does prosper straight away, which is highly unlikely, can anyone say thats good management.
Its definitely time to show some players the DOOR.
Then the best thing will happen, we'll play a brilliant game against celtic midweek and all these problems will be forgotten AGAIN. Same old story.
Times like these, you can't blame the fans for their reluctance to support the team.

Yes I know that the core of this team is what makes it so successful, but that's what I mean, the backbone of the team can stay the same, Nesta, Oddo, Pirlo, Seedorf, Kaka and Rino but the others that rarely do anything and mostly are sub but when given that chance don't even try their best need to be shown the door simple as that, we are NOT a perfect team, despite the BS that Galliani might try to feed us (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) And yes I had hope for the Scudetto, that should have been our main goal this season, the CL in no a realistic option to base all your efforts on, one bad night or a stroke of bad luck and you're out, so I don't see the logic in completely shunning the league and putting all our efforst in a cup competition, imo it's ignorant at best. Fact is small changes should have started to come after Istanbul but we stuck around we the same team not for 1 year but 3. Now we'll most likely have to make 5-7 changes in one summer, that is not good planning it's just terrible management at best imo.

Now we'll most likely have to make 5-7 changes in one summer, that is not good planning it's just terrible management at best imo. yes, certain players should have been shown the door. But what good is this talk now, that is what I have been trying to say over and over again. The season already started, for good or for worse, this is the team that will compete. I am not putting all my hopes solely on winning the CL this season. For starters we already won a trophy, and finishing off the season with a second or a third trophy isn't bad MO of course (let that be the CL and/or CWC). I agree with you that 5-7 changes isn't good for the team when it happens at once. But the management are the experts in that field. It is their job and they have been managing this team for over 20 years, they have more experience than anyone on this forum on that matter. han, it isn't easy to take this draw and neither is it to take the loss w/ Palermo ... But we both know this is just a phase, Milan always pick up themselves and show a different character when the going gets tough. That is why I am laid back (sort of) and believe in this team no matter what the critics like to say. About the critics, you know what they say ... Those who can't do, teach .. and those who can't teach criticize (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
