Ka-Pa-Ro Are The Best In Europe – Careca

Former Brazil and Calcio legend Careca has labelled Milan’s Ka-Pa-Ro as the best trident in Europe, but says it can not be compared to Napoli’s famous Ma-Gi-Ca of the 1980s.

Kaka & Maradona

Careca had a glittering Serie A career and was a key player in Diego Maradona’s outstanding Napoli side of the late 1980s.

In an interview with the Gazzetta dello Sport, Careca was asked how a superstar of today, Kaka, compares with Maradona.

“ Kakà is a phenomenon but none of the attackers of Milan are close to Maradona,” said Careca. “Diego was a monster.”

Pato – the ‘new Careca’?

Teenage wonderkid Alexandre Pato has been labelled by many as the “new Careca”. So what does the great man think of this?

"The comparison is credible,” admitted Careca.

“He has a great shot, great dribbling. Perhaps he is even stronger than me in the air. If you have patience in two years Pato will be the new Kakà in the sense that he will be a champion that everyone will enjoy. Even supporters of the opposition.”

Roma Could Have Signed Pato

Careca also revealed that Roma missed the opportunity to sign Pato before he joined Milan.

"Do you know that more than a year ago Pato was offered to Roma?,” the 47-year-old pointed out.

“Even a blind man would have noticed that this young man was of a different class. Roma took their time and a few months later Pato was wanted by the entire world. I am glad that finally he landed in Milan. The club of Berlusconi is a paradise for Brazilian footballers.”

Ka-Pa-Ro Or Ma-Gi-Ca?

The Milan trident of Kaka, Pato and Ronaldo has been labelled as the Ka-Pa-Ro. How does it compare with Napoli’s great Ma-Gi-Ca trio of Maradona, Giordano and Careca?

"We were stronger because Diego was the difference,” Careca declared.

“But the trident of Milan is the best there is in Europe. The trio is better than Ronaldinho-Messi-Eto'o.”

Careca also scored 29 goals in 60 appearances for Brazil, and excelling at the World Cups of 1986 and 1990.
