After months of speculation, President Massimo Moratti has confirmed that Roberto Mancini already signed a contract extension "some time ago."

Newspapers had suggested that even a Scudetto victory would not be enough to keep the tactician on the bench after their second round Champions League exit to Valencia, as figures as diverse as Jose Mourinho and Marcello Lippi were tipped to take over.

However, after today’s triumph in Siena, Moratti gave an announcement in a live television interview with Sky Italia.

“The contract renewal with Mancini has already happened a while back,” he smiled. “That allowed us to be relaxed. It’s a four years plus one deal.”

That means the former Lazio and Fiorentina boss is tied to Inter until 2011 with an option to extend it for another year.

All that aside, Inter deserve this scudetto .. But the season itself wasn't interesting, I mean celebrating ur win, when u have nearly 20 points difference between 1st and 2nd place, isn't exactly a very entertaining championship. Nonetheless, Inter won this one on the field (of course w/ us deducted points and Juve in B, otherwise, they wouldn't stand a chance..) and they should enjoy this. If you look at the questionable calls they had this season go towards them then you can say that they deserved it as much as Juve did the last 2 seasons.

Using your connections with telecom Italia to set up your opposing clubs and virtually handicapping or completely getting rid of your competition might also question how much they deserved it.

Winning the title mainly because of the players they bought off Juve after the company Massimo Moratti has shares in taps the calls of the Juve boss to help them on their way down doesn't qualify as them deserving it either.

Steam rolling through the weakest Serie A in years, when your biggest competition is Roma and the other strong ones have been either sent down or started with minus points is not a big achievment in my book.
