Oliveira not moving to Madrid
MADRID, Spain: Real Madrid won't be signing AC Milan striker Ricardo Oliveira as a replacement for Ronaldo. Talks at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium between Milan vice president Adriano Galliani and Madrid officials stopped because of a FIFA rule which prevents a player from appearing for three clubs in the same season, news reports said Wednesday. Oliveira spent last season with Real Betis but then was loaned to Sao Paulo for the three months of the European offseason. He joined Milan on Aug. 31. "Oliveira played for Sao Paulo and Milan and Real Madrid would be a third (team) and that's very difficult. The lawyers were working on it and it's better to avoid risks," Galliani told Radio Marca. Earlier Wednesday, FIFA authorized the transfer of Argentina midfielder Javier Mascherano to Liverpool even though he has already played for Corinthians and West Ham.
