It's all about the directors and their transfer-politics.

Oh, and we're not a rich club. Our owner is the one who's rich. Same for Chelsea. Real Madrid is a different situation.

Milan without Berlusconi family, Inter without Moratti family, Roma without the Sensi family...etc etc etc are nothing.

The problem is that Berlusconi is old, sick and is not the same as some years ago. And he has other things to think besides Milan. Fininveste (his company... in which Milan is a part of) and Forza-Italia (his right-wing political party)... specially this 2.

And when you've 70 years old... it's just not that easy. I guess you understand.
