To be quite frank I'm way past that coach theory. Sure, bringing a good coach makes all the difference; yet we never even once showed true potential in the last couple of years (2017 included). The only glimpse that could have given us faith was under Montella when we managed to win twice against Juventus and not loose against Inter.
But then again M&F also picked Montella to stay on board with the new team; then signed a bunch of not very well planned players who left us lacking quite a few positions and tactical options. Now they picked Gattuso, apparently to keep our options open in the summer. Few months ago Conte was linked with Milan on several IMO bogus reports; but the fact that our management did not sign Ancelotti when he was free nor make a deal with any other big name is what makes me more and more worrisome. |
