Serie A 2006/07 - day 2

Parma vs. Milan

Sunday, 17th September

20:30 (IT Time), 19:30 (UK Time)

The match after the AEK one.
It's always difficult to play in Parma stadium. Always a good team

I expect a win. 0-1 Oli.

PS: Next weeks are not easy - after AEK match: Parma (17), Ascoli (20), Livorno (24), and then the match vs. Lille. (http://www.acmilan.com/InfoPage.aspx?id=27905)

THE SOLID CROSS

Parma are coming off a UEFA Cup win where they rested a number of first-team players but playmaker Domenico Morfeo will be back for the Tardini clash.

Carlo Ancelotti has won three matches at the Tardini in his time as Milan coach, lost won and drawn one but each game has been a difficult encounter. It was worse for Milan before he arrived, losing each of their four visits between 1997 and 2001. Parma proved to be tricky customers in the last away game of the season, with the Rossoneri winning out 3-2.

Stefano Pioli is the new coach now, having been in charge of Modena. He always puts out well-organised sides that battle to the final whistle as they demonstrated on Thursday in their UEFA Cup win at Russian side Rubin Kazan. Daniele Dessena scored the only goal of the game with just eleven minutes remaining.

The team has changed a lot since last season, Daniele Bonera has, of course, joined Milan and will return to the Tardini for the first time this Sunday. Midfielders Mark Bresciano and Fabio Simplicio have moved to Palermo while targetman Bernardo Corradi is with Manchester City. New signings Gasbarroni, Kutuzov, Muslimovic and Budan have come in as replacement but the focal point of the side, as always, is playmaker Domenico Morfeo. The team with the cross on their shirts look as solid as ever and it could be another difficult evening for Milan at the Tardini.
