There was a fuss here on Milanfan. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Seriously though, I am not sure what to expect of this ordeal come the summer. I think if Allegri stays (which I am positive he will), then there is little chance of Inzaghi staying. And even by some weird coincidence he gets a contract extension for another year, there's an inch of a chance he'll play.

I think it would have been best if Inzaghi retired at the end of 2007 season, after winning the CL and all that.

Even here the second snub went quiet. Of cource he won't stay, he'll be 39 soon. How many 39 y.o striker do you know that are still playing in a top club? Even on a rare occasions he played a lot of minutes this season (PSG and Novara), you could see that he's way past his prime (a difficult injury at this age will speed the process and he had that last season). And it's not like we have strikers deficiency, and I don't think it will change next season.

I disagree. I don't think those 2 matches prove anything; Inzaghi has been out of link with the team and system. If Allegri kept giving him more then just 5 minutes in a match that's already won and no one cares about, you'd seen Pippo score once or twice. He's old, shabby, rusty and slower, but he has his instinct, he knows his timing and he still has the will-power.

I think those matches showed why Allegri don't have much faith in Pippo. Yes, he could have play him more at times but it wouldn't have changed the big picture imo. I love Pippo and I would rather him to retire while he's still on top than seeing him struggle as a bench player.
