Given how much debate over the merits of various players rages around here, I thought I'd pull it all into one thread with the simple question: Who has proven you wrong, and who were you spot on about?

I'll give my examples as a clue so you know what I'm on about.

I was right:

Huntelaar. You knew I'd mention him first (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I didn't want him to join over Fabiano, and sadly his time at Milan has justified my lack of faith in him. He had a horrible 2 month spell in the team where he looked absolutely hideous and incapable, and has barely featured since then. A waste of money and here's hoping we can get a decent sum so everyone, himself included, can move on.

Ronaldinho. I was almost on my own in supporting Ron - as I've mentioned, my opinion of him earned me abuse from supposed Rossoneri from a board I used to be on. And now he's clearly won over everyone else too. Even when I joined here, opinion about Ron was divided at best, but I am proud to say I stood in the minority and told you guys he was class and would come good. And now, just like the season before last, he's arguably one of Serie A's best players.

Seedorf. A source of strange criticism, Clarence is someone who I changed my negative opinion about permanently when he was our clear best player during the Calciopolo season. Capable of match changing magic (his influence on the Marseille game won us it), and criminally under-rated, there are fears from many that he won't make the derby. That's fear that once upon a time never existed.

Dida. I never stopped believing in his ability, and while Storari excelled given a chance, Dida was always our best goalie. Unfairly rejected by Carlo, then despised by too many of our own fans, while ol' Nelson makes the odd error, so do the very best, and he's without doubt our best keeper and deserving of his slot.

I was wrong:

Ambrosini. If ever a player turned mediocrity on its head it's this guy - from totally average and cumbersome in the middle of the park, he now dominates the DM area. A great worker who's produced world class displays this year, he's one of the first names on the team sheet. He proved me wrong. But so did the next guy...

Borriello. I swore he was out of his depth. That he could do it for Genoa but didn't have the mentality for a big club like Milan. How wrong was I - a MVB-esque volley against Siena summed up his renaissance - he's doing it against everyone now, and even his goal-less display against Juve was the classic one man up front alone display. Dare I say it, the once feeble Marco now looks world class and a serious bet for South Africa.

Pirlo. Having done zilch since the world cup I was sure he was finished - his displays of the last few months prove that isn't the case - he's been pulling the strings in midfield and dominating as he did in his younger days. He's also added exceptional skill on the ball and trickery to his armoury, making him currently one of the best midfielders of his type around.

Silva. I kinda liked him at the start, but then started to feel he looked nervous and shaky, and lacked dominance at the back. Nowadays he's forming a watertight partnership with Nesta and looks far more composed and assured.
