I'm stunned. When we have a crisis with our forwards last season, people were calling for signing new strikers. When we do, we suddenly have too much. Once we have some rotation... it's suddenly a bad thing.

Some people will never be happy.

I'd much rather have rotation and depth with our strikers. And lets face it, Inzaghi won't be playing as much. What if he is hit with another injury? If anything if we put all the pressure on Pato, there is more of a chance he could pick up another injury or be overwhelmed.

Inzaghi is a legend and I'd never thought in a million years I'd grow to love an ex- juventino so much but NOW his body is simply not capable of withstanding top class football for extended periods.
Borriello has only ONE season of more than 12 goals we can't accurately predict how he's going to play.

So essentially we only have ONE forward that we could EXPECT a reasonably consistent stream of goals from

No. We have four forwards, and three we can expect something out of.

But with Milan, our goals don't mostly come from our forwards, but our midfielders (Kaka scored 15 last season). And I'm sure Ronaldinho (who can play as second striker) will score just as many.

Another example to prove my point: Who scores the most goals in Manchester United? Ronaldo. Tevez is a far second at 14 goals last season (just counting league games). Ronaldo had 31. Is Ronaldo a forward?

Actually he IS a forward in the position that SAF plays him....Rooney and Tevez do their share of dirty work and yeoman's service for him to get the ball. However youe example imho is inapplicable to us because none of our midfielders are heavy goal scorers....unless you are counting Kaka and I don't see him being a Serie A top scorer anytime soon (because he still has a ton of work to do as a midfielder himself)

I've welcomed him back. That's fine by me. I would have picked a defender, then maybe if we had time try to work out a deal for Shevchenko... I've said many times... I'm okay with him coming back though it was not on my wish list.

Actually, you're talking about two different leagues. We scored 66 goals (correct me if I'm wrong) last season... which was more or less similar to other top level teams. I'm not saying Kaka will be a top scorer. He'll probably score 10-15 again... and Ronaldinho will indeed get on the scoring chart.

As far as the league differences... Italian Serie A is far more defensive, and I'm sure if Ronaldo was playing here his total would be similar to Kaka's.

But no Ronaldo isn't a forward. I'll ask Kurt more on that one though and leave him to answer that.
