Milan have completed the signing of Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos on a one year loan deal, with the option to make the move permanent next summer.

The Rossoneri have been desperately searching for a centre back in recent weeks following the injury to key man Alessandro Nesta.

With Dario Simic and Digao both being offloaded, things started to become desperate for the Rossoneri when primary target Branislav Ivanovic, who had seemed certain to join from Chelsea, saw his transfer fall through at the last moment.

It was reported last week that Milan had turned their attentions to another Premiership based player, in the form of Arsenal centre back Philippe Senderos, and the deal has now been officially completed.

The Swiss centre back arrives on a one year loan deal, and Milan have the option to make the move permanent for a set fee next summer.

Senderos had been well down the pecking order at Arsenal following an error-prone season last term, and Arsene Wenger signalled his intention to let him leave after signing Manchester United’s Mickael Silvestre last week.

The 23-year-old Senderos made 74 Premiership appearances, scoring four goals, since signing for Arsenal from Servette in December 2002.

He has won 31 caps for Switzerland, playing at World Cup 2006 and Euro 2008.

Anyway, I don't know about you guys, neither how Senderos will develop, but I'd sure like a Kovac to go with him. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I know it's not popular opinion, but maybe sell Brocchi for 4m or so, and make a scoop for him at 5m. Would make everything complete, as we'll be covered in all positions.

I'd rather see us making a direct swap with Lazio for Standardo. Senderos is younger and he has made his fare share of blunder while playing in a top league, while Kovac has never played in a top league and I hear he's not all the great, not to mention Senderos is younger and coming on loan so if he doesn't make it we can send him on his way easily.

Getting Standardo would offer us another option at CB not to mention a physical player that has Serie A esperiance. Plus it comes with the added bonus of getting rid of Brocchi

Anyone really, because our midfield is filled to the neck, or attack has taken some semblance of a shape, but our central defense could use a couple of more signings so as us not to come back after a year giving it as an excuse of finishing 2nd.

Anyone would do really, a CB that has potential. That and then a young goalkeeper (but that's too much to ask after what we've been given by Galliani). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Senderos seems a step in the right direction, we'll have to wait and see how it pays off, but I'd get another low-cost CB option just to be on the safe side of things.

I don't know if we really need another CB..Darmian is very very very good for a young lad...He ain't scared of nothing..I'll rather use Darmian than to bring another defender...tis would be waste of money on an ordinary CB..prob wouldn't even get a chance to play...
