QUOTE (xudong @ Oct 29 2005, 10:32 PM) actually PSV game is only a few days ago, the new question will be: will Sheva be able to make it? I imagine so but will Ancelotti play him after how well the team played tonight?

QUOTE (Sheva Is Brilliant 05 @ Oct 30 2005, 10:41 AM) I don't think we will know a hundred percent whether he will play or not until a few hours before kick-off. I agree. I didn't know that he wasn't even on the bench until the game was over. I thought he was starting from the bench against Juventus. then I saw him in casual clothes when celebrating... Hopefully he will at least be on the bench against PSV. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

*Mods, please don't move this to the video forum for it's more than just a compilation topic. It's also a farewell topic to one of Milan's most inspirational and dedicated players of the past decade. Thanks*A note to all Milan fans: Hey all. I started working on this project long time ago and I would have never guessed it would become a farewell compilation. As I watch the video clips, I can't prevent myself from dropping a tear or two. Shevchenko is my idol. This is a man I have been watching closely for the past 8 years... What he has done for Milan can't be forgotten and disrespected. There is no replacement for him as some players just can't be replaced and they shouldn't be replaced. But as others have mentioned, there is more to one man's life than just a sport and we are ought to respect that. Compilation info: This is not an ordinary compilation. It's long and it's very high quality. It features Sheva's best goals from 1999 to 2004. Title: Andriy Shevchenko- 7 extraordinary years Duration: 23:49 Video quality: 2060 kbps Exclusive to milanfan.com Download links: http://www.filefactory.com/get/v3/h.php?f=...b1ed9480b6499edEnjoy! filefront link coming soon.

* mods please correct my English where it's bad if you can, thanks!!!!It's a way for me to learn *(IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) this is the least I can do for Milan's alltime 2nd goalscorer (that could have easily been the first (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ) The Master Of the HouseSheva's family was a traditional military one, the typical family of ex-USSR where commitment to arms and vocational rehabilitation were the one and the same!!!Back then noone believed that an all-blonde baby boy that first saw the light of day on the 29th of September, 1976 would so dramatically change those entrenched ideas and rebel against them. Andriy was not like all the other kids though! He was brought up in Dvirkivshchyna, a small village in Ukraine 90km east of Kiev and at his first birthday he saw people dressed up in crisp, imposing uniforms inebriated by the vodka his father, an army officer had stood them with. Something's CookingHis mother was the first person to understand that something was out of the ordinary with Andriy. In spite of her not liking the idea that her only son would join the military she had to obey her stern husband's desires. "Andriy was born to be an artist, I knew it from the start. However if I had said that to Mikola he would have killed me". First Touch With The BallIn the home-camp of the Shevchenko family the word "ball" was unknown. Not until he first went to school did Andriy discover his aptitude, since he had only been kicking pillows and small round lunch boxes he secretly used to take from his mother's kitchen. It was the summer of '84 when Andriy began his football rebellion. For the first time his father (who had been promoted to brigadier in the meantime) was going to be apsent from home for about two months in order to organise and look over an infant regiment of the regular soviet army in former East Germany.Without the boogieman over his head, eight year old Andriy seized the opportunity and did things that until then he didn't know about and was indoctrinated to avoid. He came out of the house to go to the earthen field of Dvirkivshchyna where he knew that Nikolai Hrustov, neighbor carpenter's son, with whom he had lucid bidding not to have any contact was.During the following two months Nikolai and Andryi became inseparable friends and the football was their first inamorata. It was then that the headmaster of the football school of Dynamo Kyiv Alexandr Spakov casually discovered Andryi and asked to meet his parents. My Son Is A Bum?Mikola's return from East Germany put an end to this story.Already credited Commander in chief of the Soviet army for the excellent fashion in which he organised the regiment in a foreign country, father Shevchenko returned home proud and prepared to share his happiness for this achievment of his with his successor to the glorious army of the country.Instead what he came in view of did surely gave him the needle; Andriy had taken off the one-coloured pullover that bore the CCCP emblem and having put on the Dynamo Kyiv training shirt while kicking in the yard the only thing that made him mad with rage; a football.Mikola, though a strict serviceman was not the kind of father that would beat his child.Anryi's discipline was close confinement in free-time and forbiddance to leave home for a month. Not because he had persuaded his mother to buy him the ball but for expressing his objections to the soldiering life his father was so ambitiously prepareing for him.Mikola refused to meet Alexandr Spakov and opted to instead mail him a letter in which he brought into relief that his own was to become an exceptional serviceman and not any bum with long hair that would play football, listen to Rolling Stones and smoke marijuana. The Move To KyivIn late 1986, and while the Kyiv residents had shyly started to compromise on life in ,because of Chernobyl, polluted air of Kyiv, Shevchenko's family moved permanently to the capital of (afterwards free) Ukraine.Andryi then saw the opportunity occur before his eyes and showed his father that he was not satisfied with the choices he had made for his own life; "He was barely eating, was very melancholic and his grades at school had already started to lower.I always dreamed that he would become a great serviceman, I was never a friend of football but no father likes to see his child pine away and Andryi had for the past two years showed that more than anything he enjoyed playing football" Mikola recalls.Seeing his own son in broken spirit he finally decided to meet the headmaster of Dynamo Kyiv's football school and think out his suggestion."Avocation with football is going to make him stiffer and, essentially, much more disciplined physically and mentally" was the gammon and spinach Spakov told Andryi's father and he agreed approving of the great transfer to Dynamo's school. Father SilvioAlready in his first year there Anryi became the leading figure. While eleven he led the Dynamo youngsters to win the school championship of the town and hereupon the whole Ukraine confederation one.In his twelve he was the first ever student of the school who traveled (as a companion) outside of Ukraine following Dynamo's men team into San Siro where he trained with the Milan youngsters for two days.He returned home bringing to his classmates presents they had never before seen in the communistic Kyiv, such as Coca-Colas, gums and video games. In his thirteen AC Milan proposed to him to move in Italy in order to join the Rossoneri academies, and in his fourteen there was a guard outside of his house so that he wouldn't go to train. How did that happen? The fourteen year old's fame, reminiscent of Oleg Blokhin (current Ukraine coach), had already surpassed the Soviet Union's frontiers as besides AC Milan, Ajax and FC Barcelona were also interested in obtaining his signnature while in the meantime the immature young kid gradually transformed into a beautiful teenager that had quite an impact on young girls. So how would he be able to consentrate on studying? He barely got a pass in most courses and that pissed Mikola off as he saw that Spakov welshed on his promise that he would persuade young Andryi to permanently study in order to ensure his place in the school and continue his career in Dynamo in which he had began to take part in some of the men's training sessions. In January 1990, soldier Nikolai Chehov was commanded by Mikola to guard his house and to brief the brigadier whenever Andryi attempted to leave in order to join the training. This limitation had a positive effect in the control of the moppet who listened to his father and began studying intensively. That was the last time Mikola believed that his son could finally forget about football and become an army man of quality.Almost a year after, when Andryi had already turned fifteen, at the home of the Shevchenkos came a letter from AC Milan, the usual kind of, the clubs send to blandish the parents of talented youngsters they closely follow up; "You have to be proud of your gifted son.We watch him permanently and we sure hope that he'll be here with us soon".Mikola kept the letter and for the first time in his life he smiled for what his son insisted he wanted to become. It wasn't the pretty words that made him do so but the signature of the man that had, obviously, inspired and written them by himself since the odour of the expensive pen remained fadeless; Honoured, SILVIO BERLUSCONI. In about five months (the 29th of September) Andryi Shevchenko will look himself in the mirror and he will be thirty. He will then have his first football wrinkles, unfortunately in a blue shirt (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) Goodbye Sheva!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) (IMG: http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/5343/andreishevchenko9uc.jpg)

QUOTE (Nova @ May 28 2006, 09:53 AM) He's not a Legend. Maldini , Baresi , Rivera , Costacurta , ... are legend. He could've become one , but unfortunatly he's joining chelsea. true... he is a legend in the making; despite not being an Italian or a Milanese ... but, then, that's maybe the cause why he wont be a legend.. he can pack his bag to London .. a legend? nope... just another great player who once play for Milan

QUOTE (Bluesummers @ May 28 2006, 05:25 AM) Thats what i hate about Chelsea, and most of the english teams. The players are either hated or loved. The fan base is half ***. Look at drogba, he was happy before he came to chelsea. Now he wants to leave, same with crespo and gallas. Milan have true fans; we dont ditch the team if there doing bad or have lost certain games. He will see this, and will regret it for the rest of his life. In England mostly it's about a trend. Like this month it's the trend to idolise beckham , the next month it's owen and the following month is rooney. That's what I hate about english footbal it's so pretentios. Rooney scored 16 goals this season and he is considered a god (because that is the trend right now to idolise rooney) Gila scored 17 goals and some people are already labelling him as a flop and a waste of money.

Mate, who idolises Beckham at the moment?! Nearly all people here want to see an inexperienced right winger (Aaron Lennon) take his place ahead of him in the World Cup, I think that says a lot. Rooney is not considered a god because of this season! The fact that he is 19 and has produced what he has done so far in his career and the bags of potential he has got makes him a "god".

Man this comp is good, the clips were really high quality and it made very good watching, didn't like the Crazy Frog music mind! But no it was well put together.
Even though the download is about 300mb I would recommend it for other people maybe not willing to download a file that size.

QUOTE (pKillerMax @ Jun 1 2006, 12:38 AM) I'll try uploading it on another website. If you could I'd be really thankful...Sheva's what made me a "Milanfan" in the first place, and to see an extended compilation would be grately appreciated. Despite his transfer, and the sadness that it brings, he'll still be my favorite and to see a really thorough compilation would be great. BTW...To hell with chelsea.

I'm tired of hearing people (media included) asking who will replace sheva. No one is going to replace Sheva. And to put that pressure on another player would do more damage than it would good. So lets ask who is going to lead Milan next...not who is going to be the next Sheva. There is and never will be another Sheva.
I pray Millan doesn't try to go out and find another Sheva...I hope they judge them soley on skill and experience...not if they can fill Sheva's shoes. That's like asking Barcelona to find someone to fit Ronaldinho's shoes if he ever left. It's impossible.

QUOTE (dst @ Jun 11 2006, 11:21 AM) Torres is a star????Oh my God what are you talking about???Just because he had a very good and a mediocre season???Is that what's a star??Then what is Henry?Guys you should know better!!!! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) he has to play great every single season not just show he's got potential to be a star!!!Even Sheva when he reached the semis with Dynamo wasn't a star back then. You can't characterize so easily!!Like Gulliver saying Ibra is a great striker..what exactly makes him great? He just had a very good display in Euro '04...He's a striker with great potential yes that I can accept!!! But no Torres is no star and Ibra is no great strikers YET (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) As for the Sheva topic...I told this a hundred times (but it´s never enough): Shevchenko left, we won´t find a replacement, but we will (I hope so,..neh, I´m pretty sure..) make, create a new player, just like we did with Andriy and all are other legends. The legacy must go on! Now it is to our scouts to find a new talent, a young and not (yet) prominent striker. As for Ibra...has anyone seen the Sweden - TT match yesterday? Well, bravo for Ibra, he proved something I allready knew..he is a clumsy, arrogant and useless striker and not suitable for Milan. Just like Ruud Van Nistelrooy or Ronaldo. Players, who´s time ended long time ago. In fact, there are just two star strikers suitable for Milan at this moment - Adriano and Drogba. And here it ends all. Torres? Maybe, but I have some bad expirience with spanish players in Italy..remember Jose Mari, Javi Moreno or even Mendieta (at Lazio)? But we really should look closer to some players from Holland, France, Eastern Europe, Brazil, Argentina or Africa. For ewample Ajax or Marseille have some real good strikers. So buy a young talent instead of a expensive star striker, but bring a star midfielder or defender. We could need someone like van der Vaart or Sneider to play the X-mas tree again as a variation if things go bad... Anyways I won't agree with Filipo, he performed quite well in Sweden's match, though, he has a problem a still can't fix it. He had some decent chances to score and didn't, just like Larson! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) About Drogba I can say, I was very much nicely surprized by his performance. A good companion behind him like Kaka and Argentina might have lost. I think you understand what I mean (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

I don't see this point, we are not going to replace Sheva? Yet we are already debating people to bring in since Sheva has left if that's not replacing what is?! When I have mentioned names Torres, Riquelme (God Damn I got killed for mentioning a midfielder not an attacker!!!) I don't see them just being there to "replace" Sheva in character, stature etc I'm just looking to the future and a good player to guide us to success, as I'm sure nearly every Milan Fan is! I don't just see them as a replacement, hmm as I said at the start I don't really understand the point being made in this topic (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

QUOTE (dst @ Jun 18 2006, 07:23 PM) You are right... real stars come with the years, and many many matches. Some players shine for one period or tournement and then fall apart. I allways prefer players with 19, 20, 21 or 22 years to call talents, rather then stars. Robinho, Ribery, Torres - talents; Henry, Zidane, Sheva - stars! Cause it happens to often that we call someone to fast a star and then the young player doesn´t manage to hadle the pressure good. So be carefull when you proclaim someone a star! QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Jun 18 2006, 07:59 PM) You are right... real stars come with the years, and many many matches. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) There's no U22 talent team can dominate Europe or even in a domestic league. Even you collect Torres, Messi, Robinho, Kompany, ... into one team. The reason is that they don't have enough experience to play equally during the whole long season (or even in a match). I also don't think we have enough world-class young talent players for all positions in a team. In history, Ajax was an example that similar with this (but not, because at least Van der Sar and Litmanen weren't youths but play important role in the squad). The proof is that where is Cavenaghi? Alexandro? Boriello? ... and so on. Many of us even don't know who they are. That's mean in 10 talents today, the world will see only 2 or 3 world class players in the future. If a team with all young talents, they are just a potential team FOREVER!

I think the 3 best strikers in the world right now are Sheva, Ronaldo, and Henry. (in that order) Now sheva is in the premiership and now we get to see who is better, sheva or henry? (and some kid they call Rooney) I really hope sheva does well in england. After all we trained him. If he does well over there....that means that milan is superior to the english clubs. We train our players to be the best in the world, not just serieA. And sheva is going to prove it. About ronaldo, i think he is stilll really good, he just needs a better coach. I think he will rise again under capello. Unless we pick him this season..then we can put him through milanlab and make him a more complete player. and he will dominate serieA again. Thats my dream transfer to milan for this year. Ronaldo. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

I think we should stop arguing about legend or not of Sheva. Why? Because everybody has his own answer. Ex, for me and the Board of Milan (as they presented) Sheva is a true man, a legend with 7 extraodinary years and many glory. But, others, forget all we had together and call him a traitor. However, they have their own reason.
IMO, he didn't leave us to Real when we are nothing and Real was everything. This story is enough to proved that he is a kind of man who never leave Milan when we need. And you, you blame him because he left us. However, are you 100% sure that if you were him, you won't leave???? Remember, being a star is the meaning of you have to satisfied millions of fan, also your private famili, habbits, purposes ...

(IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) I was reading one of NHL (hockey) forums (Los Angeles Kings) and I found a topic where they were talkingabout Beckams move to their city. Offcourse in this forum are people from all over the world who love hockey and one of them is also one Italian guy who is actually also huge Milan fan (he has a season ticket for Milan for over 20 years) and the word somehow got to Shevchenko. I quote wat they were talking: QUOTE Quote: Originally Posted by absolutic Speaking of AC Milan, Shevchenko is from my home town Kiev, Ukraine. Shevchenko's wife is american and wanted to raise their son in England or US so he can learn to speak english, this is what Andryi said when he asked to be traded. But the rumor was around even before the request became official, so it happened that a couple fans who met her downtown Milan weren't very kind with her, but they only said "You B1tch, you're taking him away from Milan"...
This is the official version of why Shevchenko wanted to leave Milan. But there's another rumor going around here in the past few months, and I have a friend of mine who works in the fashion world who confirmed it. Btw, Sheva is a very close friend of Armani (They opened together a shop in Kiev), and the legend says Kirsten one day found his husband sleeping with an Armani's model (a guy). So she forced him to move to London or she would have told the media about it. Honestly I don't give a S about this story, I'm only disappointed with Andryi for leaving the way he did.
He could have said "Hey, he (Abrahmovich) will give me a ton of Euro and I want to play for another team". I wouldn't be happy as well, but still better than "My wife is the boss and I have to do what she wants". It's not that in Milan there'are not international schools to teach english to your kids... I would not be shocked if they were talking abot a woman in Shevas bed but a guy (don't get me wrong - I have nothing against gey people). (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) This story about sleeping around with other people and the threat that she would have told the media about it, kind of explain why Sheva a couple of months before he left looked worried, tense (remember when he was sostituted) and out of nowhere started to confirm that he might leave Milan. I think that when he said that he wants to become like Maldini and end his carier in Milan he was telling the truth, but after that if wife caught him cheating everything suddenly changed and he was truly forced to move (to get away from his lover and wifenot telling the media).
